Just stopping by for a refill. Good GI coffee this morning! Got the neighbors gray market yanmar out of the shop yesterday. Had a bad headgasket. However, he still has problems. Getting water in the oil. Sleeves looked perfect. Looks like it will be back....
On the other hand, a neighbor with a frame off complete restoration on a 53 Jeep had a better day. We got it to start with no problems. It's going to be fantastic.

Hello and thanks for the cup o' joe

So whats swingin' in the break room besides Bobby's Depends saggin' by his knees?

Both of my Costco Batteries [2 yrs old] started showing low voltage and error msgs in the truck now that the cold weather has it.
Went to Costco in Fargo and I now have a fresh set of batteries with another 3 yr warranty. Nice.

I sent a text of Happy Birthday to Mark and his USMC.

Tomorrow I'll take the time to reflect on my thanks to those who served and gave the ultimate sacrifice as well as those still serving.
Remembrance Day in Canada is a very important day just like Veteran's Day.
I thank you all, each and everyone of you.

My Elder Twin would practice all of his training on me as well as 'other' things. LOL I still thank him.

Another nasty storm moving through. Warmed up and getting a mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow. Not to mention the winds.
This week marks month 3 without my beloved 91.5. State Farm has stopped returning my calls.
The land lord came through and gave me another trailer. Nice guy.

Good afternoon DTRonians, it is another grey and snowy Sunday in southern Alberta It is awfully early in the snow season to have had 3 Sundays in a row where there isn't much more to do than sit on the couch. Oh yeah, and plan big dinners. Not big, as in lots of people, but big as in lots of food. We are trying a new recipe tonight. It is called spicy orange beef. Basically you make crispy flank steak strips in a corn starch batter, just like ginger beef but the sauce has orange, molasses, ginger, garlic and jalapenos. I am quite excited.

Yesterday afternoon I finally got my first coyote. It has been hanging around REALLY close to the house and the barn lately. Behaviour like that isn't usually indicative of a healthy coyote. A few years back a friend of mine recommended a .25-06 as my coyote rifle. The cartridge is a .30-06 necked down to .25 cal. The slug is a 90 grain hollow point. It is a very long and thin slug with a whole bunch of muzzle velocity. I am not a big game hunter but I am concerned about humane hunting. I can now confirm that a .25-06 is a humane way to deal with coyotes. My shot hit in the abdomen area not the heart (I would have preferred the heart area). The hole coming out other side was bigger than a softball and just about cut the coyote in half. If anyone wants coyote pelts this isn't the rifle to use but for what I need it is good. One shot - no suffering.

Note that dinner is orange jalapeno beef NOT orange jalapeno coyote!!

I am lucky with the weather today, I don't need to go anywhere. For those of you who are in bad weather places today and who need to go out - be safe.

Shorts and FiverBob - I have no recommendations for the two of you, maybe apply an extra layer of sunscreen.

Play safe all y'all. I am bored today so feel free to hang around the breakroom and entertain me.

Hey buddy, what can I say. Someone has to hold down the fort here. It is not as nice out today. Cloudy and slightly breezy and down to 80 degrees. Bummer. 82 on the burner for the rest of the week. Horrible weather. ............

Great party at the house Friday night - - 30 of us. After some good sliced pork, sweet taters, baked beans, salad and Texas sheet cake, we spent most of the rest of the evening playing games out in the lanai listening to the fountain and drinking coffee. Nice time.

Coffee..........................................

Oh Scotty, them are my knees sagging, not the Depends. Tough week.
