Re:subs

I respect all you guys that dislike bass, loud obnoixous steros. Like somone said in one of the above post. "I can have it loud when I want it to be." Im that kind of person I will have my radio up just so you can hear if your standing right out side of the truck. But when someone else has there stuff up...Ya I will play with them but they usually end up looking at me funny. 5K watts will do it I guess. But I can be loud when I want to be but when Im driving through a residential neighborhood of course I will turn it down. Normaly I wont use all the power whether its 5K to 8K watts. We only have it for Comp. And to let those pesky teens that think there al bad with there setup know what a real system is. ;D

Re:subs

I listen to country mainly. There's a lot more bass in country than people think. I have to turn the subs down sometimes cause there's so much. My high's and mid's aer very clear and loud, even with the subs turned up. They are very crips and very clear. All of my stuff sounds very nice. Sound QUALITY is just as important to me as sound QUANTITY. I drive around with my bass turned up and stuff a lot. I love the sound. But it's hard to hear over the engine and exhaust(at least outside the truck). I hate rattling trunks and windows. I have dynamat all over my truck to stop that. The sound is very nice and clear. It can't really be heard that much outside the truck. But you know it's there.

Re:subs

Well fellas i hate to say it but this system isnt in my truck and what i hate to say even more is that i had to sell my truck recently to pay for school :'( (but i figure it will be for the better) Anyhow i am driving the "old beater" it is my 1989 olds cutlass supreme 2dr and with some of the money i got from my truck i put a system in it i got a panasonic CQ-DFX983U Head unit, (2)Infinity Kappa component sets 4" adn 6.5" with a Rockford Fosgate Power 551X powering them, and 2 New in box Factory left over Kicker Solo Baric S12D (the 2000 model round solo barics ((much better SQ in my opinion than the new square solos)) With a rockfor fosgate power 1051S powering them in 2 seprate custom seales enclosures I made in the trunk that fits up to my trunk so they look like they were meant to be! It sounds wonderful!! only thing is i am in some DESPRATE need of some Dynamat where is the best (cheapest) place to get it fellas?
thanks
Ian

Re:subs

seal up your doors like this

you get much better midbass from your front components also applay some to the outer door skin before you seal it up it'll keep the outer skin from vibrating

do the bottom of your trunk lid and any other panel that's vibrating

I bought a 70 square foot roll of brown bread and that did most of my 69 camaro, trunk, doors, floor ect

Re:subs

I should have been more specific (sorry). I have only seen excesive failure in the aw1206 and aw1208. I don't know if we just got an extreamly large bad batch or what. All i can say is i have lost my faith in these 2 woofers. As for the rest of the line verry few problems. I have also seen excesive failures in the first shipment of the avdvd1 for this year, last year they were great. The amps work well also, so don't get me wrong they make good stuf, they just have some bugs like everybody else in the market.

Jamie
As for sponsership they usually don't hand out stuff for free just at large discounts, and you usually agree to show or compete in some form. They do this to help sales and to place high at comps. All the big dogs did this in the early to mid 90s i don't know why the quit.

MLR1,
Thats true what you said about sponsorship they dont just hand out crap. We had got a phone call and they said to meet them up and NAM (a dist. house) and we had ben doing custom car stereo for 3 yrs now and thats how I think they saw our name. But now we get to play with the big boys in the 6500+ class. ;D
