stereo question

I have a kenwood stereo that has been great until this morning.

When I flipped the face today it started playing like usual but did not light up. I tried raising the volume and change the channel, but it will not do anything.

Whats wrong with it, any help would be appriciated.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Do you have flip-down face plate? If so, there is usually a flexible cable running from the head unit to the face plate. Check to make sure it has not come disconnected.

Well I figured it out There is a ribbon wire that goes from the faceplate to the body of the stereo that has worn out.

The worst part is I cant find anyone that sells parts

The stock radio is in for now I wouldnt mind if I had CD.

If anyone knows where I can get parts please let me know, Thanks

Call Kenwood customer service, or go to a decent local Kenwood dealer. They should set you up no problems.

fuse seems most likely but also check your connections. I let circuit city install my first one in the last truck and they just taped the wires together, didnt last a week
