Stereo ideas... for the boat
Stereo ideas... for the boat
i was wondering if you guys can tell me if this setup is condusive for my needs and make sure i have all my ducks in a row...here goes...
currently:
sony head unit 65x4...
4 sony 100watt marine 6.25's
wanting:
4 6.25 polk audio momo tower speakers/cans 125w continous...250w peak
1 kicker kx650.4 170w x 4 @2 ohms
is it my understanding that with that amp i can run all the speakers in my boat at 2 ohms achieved by running my left momo's +,+ and -,- to 2 channels on the amp and then run the same configuration with my existing stock speakers ...i will be at 170watts per individual speaker correct or only 85watts?

If im reading this right you will be at a 4 ohm stable since the speakers are wired in ++ -- so there for you SHOULD be running about 85 watts per speaker cause you are running 4 speakers in to 2 speaker ports on the amp which will make it 4 ohms maybe less but no less then 3 running about 85watts.If you lower the ohms to 2stable you will run 170watts. I know its confusing. Sorry if you dont understand...Your best bet would be to run each speaker off of each port on the amp that way you will be at a 4 ohm stable with 170per speaker for sure.
