Thumbs up Steak Dinner!

So what's your favorite side dish with a steak? I like either fried redskin potatoes, or mashed potatoes with butter topped with corn. On the cob if available. Nice salad with french or italian dressing. Just about any pie for desert. Little Beam and Pepsi.

Nice subject Redleg.....had steak Saturday. Ribeye on the grill smoked a little with mesquite and oak. 2 minutes per side then 4 minutes per side. Then I threw whole mushrooms and thickly sliced onions on the grill and did them up a few minutes. Sprayed them with sesame seed oil sprinkled with garlic powder, ground salt and coarse ground pepper. Baked potato and tossed salad with Italian dressing.

I grill corn on the cob (husk on in foil with butter) with the ribs. Then mashed potatos and baked beans.

any adult frosty beverage goes well...usually do wine with the steak though..now I am really hungry. I have a few of my own recipes if you would like to swap a few yourself. I love to cook!

Side dish with your steak??? How about another steak? Or add a tater if you run outta steaks.

Just so long as they still "got some moo left in 'em"

Nothing beats a simple pan-seared rib eye, except two pan-seared rib eyes.

All I need and want is a GOOD steak and a baked potato with lots of real butter (not the fake stuff) and some pepper on the spuds. One complete meal.

If it came with more than 4 legs or less than 2, I'm not interested in eating it. I like my steak bleeding rare. Gotta have some kind of potato with it, preferably mashed with garlic, but a buttery, well salted and peppered baked potato will do. Speaking of pepper, sometimes I just have to have a peppered steak - you know, the kind with crushed black pepper crusted all over it. Unfortunately the cooks usually try to lose the worst cuts they have on that so you have to get one of those at a really good place to get decent meat under all the pepper.

Shell steaks, and Filet Mignon are my favorites, soaked in simple worcester sauce topped with Grill Mates seasoning Montreal Garlic, maybe a couple slabs of butter. Cooked to medium constantly flipping them over and over after 2-4min a side, ends up with a nice lightly pinked center and very tender.
Side dishes would be tomato salad or caesar salad, steak fries, corn on the cob(when in season) and top neck clams.
BUT the dream side for me with a steak would be BLUE CLAW CRABS!! CAN"T BEAT IT, INMYHOP

Now I am hungry,GREEEEEEEAT

Gimme a rare Porterhouse, a little rice pilaf, and a baked Vidallia onion with butter and sour cream and I'm happy.

Picked up a steak on the way home, and Karen had picked up some Mahi Mahi. I guess steak's on for tonight.

We're doing that American Beef Council (those Beef... its whats for dinner guys) a favor.. Dinner must meet two simple requirements, it had to bleed, and it can't have had any feathers.
