Question Solar Heating

Do any of you out there in the cold parts have solar heating in your houses instead of using oil burners?
How about PV panels, batteries, inverter and electric or thermonic heating?
I know it would require a bit of lifestyle change and a inital outlay for the parts but you would not have to use the fossil to heat with. About how much is your average fuel oil bill per year?
Check some of the info here.

I bought this guys book: http://www.zelicoff.com/

He shows how he put in 2KW of photovoltiac panels and actually produces more energy than he consumes! He has a setup that feeds the grid with his excess during the day and he uses the grid during night. His electric bills are ZERO.

We're still waiting for the law to pass here for us to be able to re-sell power to the grid.

There have been several articles on solar power in Backwoods Home magazine www.backwoodshome.com .

Seems like the way to go if you can afford the equipment.
