Solar Panels

Considering adding a/some panels to my trailer. Looking for info on brand, and wattage for a 2 battery system. Just want to provide a little bit of charge to maintain usage of batteries when camping. I camp at least 2 times per month for 3-5 days each trip. Been thru about 1 set of batteries per year. Not worried about enough power to run trailer, just want to maintain batteries during trips.
Thanks for any info.
Try this website. Good info and a worksheet to help you know how much, how many, how big.

http://www.rvsolarelectric.com/

Re:Solar Panels

Your best bet are 6 volt golf batteries wired in series. Preferrably Trojan brand. As far as solar panels, figure how much power you are going to use and buy the amount of amps/volts.

Re:Solar Panels

I got a ICP Solar Panel battery saver w/charge controller from Camping World for $143. Lifetime guarantee. 15W, installation a breeze. Only had it for a week, but it works just as advertised. Model #Pro-Kit 15W. Think the sale is on thru the end of April.

Re:Solar Panels

I picked up an ICP 5 watt strictly for maintenance when sitting and not hooked up. Best price I found around anywhere was West Marine for $69. The local store wanted $79. Printed out the details from their website, took it into the store and they honored the price. Works fine in maintaining.
