So this is shock.
I am truly sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayer go out to you and your family. I only wish that it was like the old west "an eye for an eye". This type of thing happens WAY to often and the government should start thinking about capitol punishment for such crimes. If you decide to get behind the wheel in that type of condition it should be considered "pre meditated". Again my deepest sympathy in your time of loss.
Sorry for your loss Jim, hopefully the guy gets the maximum punishment for what he did.
Hey guys,
I am sorry that I have not responded back sooner but this had been extremely difficult for me to talk about and I have been trying to keep busy to take my mind off from it.
I want to thank each and every one of you for the thoughts and the prayers you have sent for me, my family and my brother Ed, it does make a difference to know that someone else cares that doesn’t even know us.
A couple of new updates, he is still in jail and I was told his bail was raised to $130,000.00 however I cannot confirm it yet.
Here are some new newspaper articles from our local paper.

And this one,

My family is taking it pretty hard, It’s like they are wandering around in a daze and I am not doing much better.
I do know they have a good attorney on the case they called the night of the accident.
Anyhow,
I had to go to a job today and I found myself going on the very street of the accident and it gave me a very sick creepy feeling when I passed the intersection, there was a Red light so I was stopped at the very spot.
When I saw the skid marks and the paint marks on the street and then to look and see the makeshift memorial and candles someone had set out it was almost unbearable, I went on to my job but could not forget.
On my way back I came up the side street that the other guy was driving.
Temple Ave. Is a very well lit 4-lane highway East and West while Valinda Ave. is the leg of a “T” that ends at Temple.
I saw no skid marks from the other guys car, his judgment were so impaired that he accelerated right into the side of him, my brother never had a chance.
I have not yet heard what his BAC was when he was arrested by CHP.
It is hard for me to even say this guys name Elliot so I refer to him as “the guy”
The services will be on this Tuesday at 3:00 P.M. And I am not looking forward to that.
This guy’s stupidity has caused so much pain and grief in just a few seconds now he needs to pay it back.
I have always been against anyone who would drink and drive; all of my accidents I have had since I have been driving except for one have been caused by a drunk driver hitting me.
In 1999 I was rear ended by a drunk driver, it put my head through the back window of my truck and broke my back.
It is now my personal quest to get them off the road before they ruin someone else’s life.
This as one more reason why I will never sell my truck, as I sit behind the wheel I have almost 1 foot of space between me and the door.
Thank you for listening to me and being there.
Jim
