Thumbs up So my little brother is getting some playing time with the Texas Rangers this week...

Emerson Frostad........."little" brother is a relative term too Good solid Canadian kid.

Box score from Tues game against Padres.......he doubled off Greg Maddux. played some 1st base. Killer. Tonights game got rained out (bummer) tommorrw night a big one at home in Arlington, hope the weather holds I want to see him on TV........that'd be unreal. I still can't get a grip on it..... He'll be assigned to Double A in Frisco Texas but they want to get a look at him in front of the big league coaches, players and fans. See if he cracks I think.

Cool. The Roughrider's ball park is only about 15 miles from me. Maybe I'll get to see him play.

Excellent...not too many Albertans or even Canadians get the chance. It doesnt help that the season is so short.

My brother could of had a shot...wasnt dedicated enough. His buddy did make it though. He pitched for Baltimore (his rookie year was 97 I believe) back when they were good. Dont know where he is now...I dont think hes evenplaying anymore.

Good luck to your bro...heres hoping hes the next Larry Walker...

Its pretty big for sure. He's a great ball player, big smart strong...........but he can HIT. So hes been shuffled through 1st base, 3rd base, now they converted hit to catch. The Rangers head of player development, was a catcher, and said Emersons best shot at the bigs is behind the plate. So now he's a catcher.

Catcher eh? Right in the middle of all the action - cool....hard on the knees but it is THE place to be (if you cant pitch)...

If you can run fast and hit - they can make a ballplayer out of you. The rest they can teach you.

Thats exactly it............you can't teach size and speed. He saw drafted and signed as a 3rd baseman. played 3rd and 1st through college.

I played on the BC and Alberta Provincial tream but never went to play college ball. I was sort of a dummy that way
