SLOW the bleep down!

I just got back from lunch at Sonic but when I started backing out some butthead comes barreling in like a bat out of heck and hit the back of my car.

He just grazed my spare tire with his fender but it sure made me mad. If I had been just about 2 inches further out he would have hit me good and most likely took out my back window which is a $2000.00 repair job.

Why can't these idiots learn to slow down in paring lots?

I used to live in Tampa. The problem is that around here the cops arew kind of lax enforcing speed laws and kind of leave it up to the property owner. People turn in off the highway and sometimes they're going kind of fast because they're turning left and trying to beat oncoming traffic. I guess I should park on the other side so they'll hit somebody else. But there was a crash last year the same way. People just drive to fast in there and don't consider people have to back out of the spaces. I'd hate to see speed bumps in Sonic but maybe that's what's needed.

Don't ever come south just a bit down to Stillwater..I can't say enough how bad the drivers are down here..and suprisingly enough, its not usually a college kid...its some rich jerk in their lexus that thinks they own the road and can do what they want... Half the time I have to drive like mad just to stay out of their way!

Well, I grew up here and I've been to Stillwater a few times. I can't believe us kids were this bad when I was growing up. I actually think that people are becoming more discourteous in this socialist "ME" culture we have become.

Or am I just turning into an old fart?

That's why I park in the boonies.
If I am forced to park where I can't pull through, I always back in.

Nah, we drove that way. The skinny pedal had two positions, on and off.

I have to agree. People are getting ruder all the time, it seems.

BTW, I was in Coffeyville recently. Was in the middle of the night, though. Not nuch traffic that time of night.

They pretty much roll up the streets after 9:00 pm. We have a curfew in the parks after midnight. I wish I had known you were here. We could have had coffee or sumpthin.

diboll, tx is the complete opposite. that town is a speed trap for sure! when i was younger, we were going the speed limit when a guy passed us going prolly 2 or 3 mph faster and got pulled over. during the hurricane rita evac, they had cops at redlights north and south of town on hwy 59 and would only let about 10 vehicles through at a time. the police have that town on lockdown!!!

Theres a town west of here like that...the town probably has only about 500 people in it, but they have two cops, and the chief of police drives a brand new BMW SUV as his patrol car...it was donated and it is pretty sweet looking when all the little LED lights are going on it. Looks like a firecracker! But if you go 2 mph over the speed limit, you can expect a ticket.

Try moving farm equipment between cincinnati and Dayton OH. You have to play chicken with every car that comes at you, nobody gives you room anymore, and they are freakin flyin on these back roads.

as far as speed controll goes, the worst thing I've seen is a minivan doing 95 on the freeway. People do have the ME mentality and not just in driving. They think that when they block traffic because they need to turn right and accedently got in the left turn lane everybody should wait for them instead of trying to get out of other drivers' way. People everywhere complain about dumb drivers. I think that people are just dumb in general nowadays, whether their driving or working in the service department of a Dodge dealership
