Where Im located has a tempur plant very close. Lots of folks around here get them for a discount and such when tempur lets its employees loose with a few. Ive slept on a tempur and the worst thing about it was the heat.

Anyway my brother got a memory foam bed thats made by some other company. I can NOT tell the difference between the two. It felt the exact same as the tempur. My brother also says its slightly cooler than the tempur bed.

Ill have to ask what the brand was but I know for certain it was a lot cheaper (I think he paid around 600) than tempur and had every bit the same quality and feel of the tempur. I know the matress was made in the US and I know Ive never heard of the manufacturer. The salesman said the big thing you pay for with the tempur is all that advertising they do. He quoted some big figure and with all the tempur adds and infomercials Im inclined to believe him.

If youre set on a tempur Id suggest you search around and try to find one of the other memory foam manufacturers. Go try out a tempur and compare it with one of the others. Ill almost guarantee your body wont be able to tell the difference but your pocket will!!

Had both literally back to back an the temper -pedic Cloud version is miles better than the over priced camp air mattress,. I too have had 3 back surgerys and the new temer-pedic with non heat absorbing technology is awesome. I cant tell you how many times I have told my wife how glad I am we bought this bed.

Tempurpedic all the way...best 3k i ever spent..my wife and i love it...the best thing is after 3yrs it keeps getting more comfortable every night.
it was a little stiff for the first 6 months...but we love it..i dont even use a pillow..just sink in and pass out..
im a concrete worker and it is my healing method for 6-7 hrs every night.. it shouldnt even be in thesame
thread..its like comparing a 12v to a 6.0 liter stroker on which one is better!!

We've had the Sleep Number with the tilt mechanism for three years...I raise the head three inches and sleep on my side; the bed is a conventional king(really two twins) and we find them creeping apart at times...usually...well, uh, anyway my daughters like to set it up for watching television and we find the comforter rolled into a ball on the floor...GRRRRR....

I'm just waiting for the tilt mechanism to malfunction, and fold the mattress up to spit me out like toast some morning(sorta like George Jetson).

It takes some getting used to(though our two Shepherds think it's just great---we are getting a pretty good idea where the term "Three Dog Night" came from) and I still experiment with the numbers but it is reasonably comfortable.

We've had our sleep number or select comfort whatever it was called at the time for about 11 years. Still works great no leaks. The adjustability is very nice.
