I've slept on a tempur pedic and it was the worst sleep I've ever had. I HATED it.

I think they are both over rated and too expensive.

My Dad bought a tempur pedic and sent it back. He said he sweat too much in it.
The sleep number- you might as well just get a 60.00 air mattress and sleep on it I think.

My GF sprung for a sleep number bed, and although I wouldn't have spent that much on a bed myself, I'd have to say that I like it. The GF felt the temperpedic kind of didn't have enough support on the edges, like it would slope toward the edge if you slept too close.

Anyhow, the sleep number bed is comfortable, and is supposed to last longer than a normal bed. Putting it together was kind of interesting, but no big deal.

A friend from work has had one for many years, and managed to split one of the plastic beams that make up the pedistal that takes up the space of where the box spring would be in a normal bed. A quick call to the company had the replacement part sent to his door, free, no questions asked. I'm not sure of what their warranty is, but from his experience they do seem to stand behind what they sell.

This reminds me, we are thrashing wheat on the 19th.

I will get to fill the ticks with new straw; we should sleep much better, then.

I have a Select Comfort mattress (pre- Sleep number controls). Bought one that a yr old from from some, and got it for half of new. REALLY like it. I can adjust it to what ever feels good to my back. Also, I almost never have one of arms go to sleep on me, if I happen to be laying on it some at night.

Never had a leak or any other problem with it in the 5yrs I've had it.

No need to flip it around like a spring mattress.

Never slept on a Temperpedic, to my knowledge.

i agree 100% i have some back problems already so i need a good bed. i did not like it because if you wanted a diffrent sleep postion you had to pick yourself up and move out of the divit you created. i now have a sleep number bed and love it. you guys now just as well as me that its nice to have a bed that you can change to fit how you feel that day. no regular bed can do this. most the time i sleep at level 25 but there are times that i need a stiffer bed its nice to have. hope this helps.

We've had our SN for a little over 2 years.

Best money we've spent. We are pretty cheap in most ways, but THIS was totally worth it.

I can't see how someone would sleep on 35 or lower, because it's pretty much a hammock that low, but I suppose it would work if you are a back sleeper.

I'm a side sleeper, so lately I've been doing 65-70. At 100, it's pretty much a concrete slab with a pillow top.

The adjustability of the bed is the best part, because you can firm it up when you have a little soreness, and you can really mush it up when you want to feel like you're in a hammock in the back yard (minus the skeeters

I'll take either!!!!!

I've seen some pretty funny posts in the "other" forum, but never one about beds! In all actuality, I'd take either right now, as I'm sure this matress in the Quality Suites is going to make for a lovely rest for the next four days!!!! It is probably going to be like the SN on 100...."a concrete slab with a pillow top"!

We have had a sleep number well select comfort when we bought it 5 or 6 years ago. Relativley expensive yes. Comfortable yes. Love the adjustability. I change it whenever I feel the need. Nice being able to adjust the different sides seperately. I think it was worth every penny. We will see if it lasts so far so good not one problem.
