I saw this at Walmart yesterday (BTW, they have Mobile Delvac on sale 12.99/gal)
You need a weather rock now that you're not near the water.

Afternoon all. Rained out by lunch today so if I have to be bored, I might as well agitate some of "you people".

Afternoon DTR.

I have bad new to report today. Had a fatality happen at work today, a contractor working for a scaffolding company at the generating station I work at fell today. The guy fell from around 30-40 ft up, he was inspecting scaffolding around a job inside the plant. One of my co-workers happend to be in the area right after he fell, a couple guys on the ground had my co-worker call for paramedics. My co-worker was pretty shaken up after seeing a guy he had delt with on other jobs lying dead on the floor. After the accident most of the outside contractors were sent home for the day and then shortly after the company sent alot of us home for the day and halted most of the work going on. Please keep this mans family in your thoughts and prayers.

Scott, it is tough and I didn't even work with the guy or know him but I've seen the guy many times in the plant. When my bosses said who it really it me hard because I was able to put a face to the name even though I never talked to the guy. The coroner is doing an autopsy in the am, but I'm sure this accident is going to impact how company employees and contractors do certian types of work.

Got the Christmas lights up - woo!

Then the lap on the tv went out Luckily I had the old spare to stick in there until I can order a new one.

My mom in law gave us some stuff from the grandparent's place. One treasure is the Polish Barometer. It is very accurate. I don't even have a need to watch the local weather guy.

Yes, I'm sure there will be changes, some good, some ridiculous. Let's hope that at least a little good will come out of it all. It's going to be difficult for everyone involved and everyone will react differently to it too. If your company offers a group counseling session of any type, I would encourage you to attend. Not because you'll need it, (you might, you might not), but if YOU go, someone who DOES need it may go if YOU go. Basically, a show of support. I never had much use to 'talk it over' after something like this happens, but the 3 I've been to really DID help, even when I didn't think I needed to go in the first place. It also brings your group closer together because it tends to give everyone that 'we're all in this together' kind of feeling. Hope all this makes sense and I didn't over-step my bounds by offering my opinion to you unsolicited. PM me if I can help somehow. Or if you just wanna tell me to go to... uh... the Ford dealer.

Good evening all.

Met a lady last week in NJ at the conference and learned that her mother has a home in Merrimac. Got a surprise today when she dropped off a big bag of chocolate chip cookies for me and a bag of Milkbones for Jake! She hadn't told me she was going to be in Merrimac because she wanted to surprise me. And she DID! Kinda what I needed right now I guess.

Matt, it's always sad to hear about an accident, especially when you're acquainted with the person involved. I'm hoping your coworker seeks out help soon if he continues to struggle with what he's experienced. I'll add you all to my prayers.

Two questions. What is a lap on a tv and do you have a pic of the barometer?

Interesting stuff. I usually go to that website and the U of A website after an earthquake to see where it was located. This new years eve I am trying to get put on the map.

Wow! Even though they spend a lot of effort to make things earthquake resistant I would not have wanted to be in that one.
