Shop Sears and tell them THANK YOU!!

Sears Corporate has a policy that goes far beyond what the law requires concerning employee reservist that are called to active duty. Law requires that an employer hold your job open until you return and nothing else. Sears on the other hand does that and makes up any difference in pay with benefits including insurance for up to two years and helps the military families in many other ways. Go to www.searsmedia.com/sear/military.htm for details.

Be sure and tell the managers or supervisors at Sears THANK YOU for the support they give our brave troops and their families. I will be shopping at Sears a lot more often.

CSX ( railroad) does the same thing here as far as making up the difference in pay. if you are making $50k a year and then have to go to a job that pays around $25-30K a year, well... I don't know how those guys do it.. I would have to sell the CTD and that IS NOT going to happen..

Walmart is actually saying " Merry Christmas" this year. i guess they got tired of people complaining about it last year...

Give me a break. There is plenty of American made stuff at Walmart.

The latest figures I can find are from 2004 and Walmart only imported $18 billion from China in 2004. Walmart did $288 billion in sales in 2004.

Part of the perception of Walmart being Chinamart is because the majority of the small items for a buck or two are made in China, but those buck or two items are only a small percentage of sales.

I buy American whenever possible, but most small stuff is almost impossible to find maed in the USA for. I have been known to pay double or triple for a tool simply because it was made in the USA.

Theres alot more than small items in there imported. What about all the electronics. clothing, foot ware, auto parts and well the list goes on.
I to will pay more for an American made product if I can find one. I just think that it is pretty ____ sad that we cant even make a pair of shoes in this country any more.

I'm active duty Air Force, and work at Wal-Mart part time in the TLE......they do the same thing for Reserve & Gaurd members I know it's probably a shck to most of you, but it's true.
That being said, I'm not a big fan of WM, but I do shop there, and for a part time job changing oil & tires, $10.30 per hour ($11.30 on Sundays) ain't too shabby....and I don't have to spend much time in the store

There has to be a lot of stuff not made in China if they imported less than 10% of all goods from China in 2004. Now, I'm sure the amount from China has increased greatly in the last two years, but it sure isn't the majority of the store, yet.

A lot of production is moving to China and not just Walmart. I was looking at propane heaters the other day. One model had two different packaging designs. One was made in the USA and the heaters in the new packaging were made in China.
