Sherriff in County around Ozona Tx

Anyone going through this area on I-10 be careful......he was one of the most unprofessional Sheriffs I've ever heard about.....makes me ashamed he is in uniform in TX..........is an embarrassment to all you good LEO's.

According to a web seach, that would be Crockett County Sheriff Roy Glenn Sutton for whatever it's worth.

Bufford T. Justice would be a more appropriate name. Started out the conversation with "woman, do you know why I pulled you over". Thanks, I'll look him up....hope he has a picture....I'd like to have a look at the face.

What did you do to get pulled over?

If being called a woman is the part that upset you, I can recall quite a few times being called MUCH worse than that I kinda like women

Not me.....my wife.....cruise set at 78 in an 80........guy was very adversarial. I'd probably have caused myself a night in jail under the circumstances.....first time for everything.

Yep....starts on I-10 right out of El Paso and goes to about Kerville. She had just had a Navigator pass her doing about 90 she estimated.....he slammed on his brakes and went to about 70 when he spotted the Sheriff.....my wife was not concerned as she had already seen the Sheriff setting in a road side park, and she passed he Navigator when she came up to him, as her cruise was set at 78. She was told she had been clocked doing 88. I had just checked her speedometer with a GPS unit. I wasn't sure her car had stock tires on it, as it was purchased used, and I was trying to avoid just such an incident. Here speedometer was spot on.

What time of day was this ??

I got temporarily delayed by one of Texas's finest on the fast stretch of I-10 ... was doing the speed limit but since the sun was setting, the speed drops at night. I got my typical warning and let go ...

Sounds like he was one of them good ol' boys !!

Cheers,
PISTOL

This was around 2:00PM......he threatened her with jail after he asked her for an explanation and she offered up the circumstances I mentioned.......he then stated she was be contemptuous and telling him he did not know how to use a radar gun.........ended up just walking back to his car and taking off after he found out how "clean" her record is and that we have insurance. Didn't even give her a warning.......Wasn't the fact that she was pulled over.......it was his demeanor and lack of respect. He always refereed to her as "woman" or "little woman" and used a very mocking tone.

Well if you have ever been arrested for assault (bar fight 20 years ago, not convicted) and try to cross the Canadian border these days be prepared for an eye opener when you get turned around by the courteous Canadians and have the unfortunate encounter with the American Custom agents. I thought I was in boot camp all over again. I had to hold my 17 yo son back because he had had enough of their abuse and was about to do exactly what they were trying to get him to do. They were itching to use their little cans of pepper spray so bad they were drooling. The Canadians were polite and courteous about the whole matter but the American side was pure hell. I couldn't believe it. We passed a couple with 4 small children coming out as we were headed in and everyone except for the man was in tears and I thought that was odd. Once I got inside I realized why they were so upset. It's pretty sad we have to pay these guys to treat us this way.

Crossing the border can be hell. I refuse to clear US customs in the Calgary airport because of the attitude and abuse. I have had bad encounters with both the US and Canadian border guards. It all depends on the type of day they are having.

The last time I crossed into the US, the US guards made me undo my belt, unbutton my pants (the banjo song was starting to play in my head) and empty my pockets as if I was smuggling something over the border. Keep in mind they never even looked at the semi we were driving or the lowboy trailer. I think they were bored as it was a low volume crossing and closed at 6 pm for the day. With the attitude they had, it could have gone badly very quickly.

Same thing in Brazoria County Tx. Speed limit 65 for a long time. Right outside of Jones Creek. For about 200 yards, the limit drops to 55. You can see the sign that has it going back up to 65 while standing at the 55 sign. I saw the sign and was in the process of slowing down with a foot on the brake. Cop right there waiting. Gave me a $250 ticket. had the option to send in a written request for def driving course to dismiss it, withing 5 days. Funny thing is, they don't give you and address to send it to. When you start calling the city offices, nobody wants to give you that address. the guy looked at every square inch of the outside of the truck and trailer for any possible safety violations that he could add to it. Even hopped into the bed and inspected every inch of the hitch. I will never ever drive thru that town again, and will never ever spend one cent in any business associated with it or Brazoria County.
