Howdy all. Thanks for the history lesson chaikwa.
As cougar said, its getting cold around here.
Don't know if its because of the rapid way we can get news but nowadays worldwide it just doesn't ever seem to end.
I hid some of it. That combination would get chaikwa so hopped up even the wool blankets wouldn't be safe.
An acronym for an acronym I should have known.
I have been really trying to not drink to try and lose some pounds (and so I don't do it all day) but would make an exception for that beer.
Reading the older posts is like sniffing glue. Too much and your head starts to hurt and even a small amount can cause brain damage.
Heidi was one of the first books I ever read.
Taught me some valuable lessons like if you shove a girls wheelchair down a mountain you can make her walk.
Shrews can only take little sheets.

Got to get to town grab a few things and get to bed. Gotta get up early and get a truck to town and empty so I can take over the grain cart. Corry's gone for a few days but the boss didn't realize he was gonna be gone til Tuesday.

Scott - - - just looking at weather channel - - looks like nasties are heading your way or possibly on you now. Take care - - go hide under one of those big steel thingies in your barn/garage/shop and hunker down until it is all gone. The pics are not pretty. Stay safe.

JWBM - I don't know you get out of bed every morning with an awful view like that waiting for you. Tell you what, let's trade for the next month and you can deal with Snowmageddon and I will deal with your trees, leaves etc. We will compare notes at the end of the month...

Yeah, she talks about how pretty it is up here but rarely talks about how nice it is in her neck of the woods. I think she just doesn't want us to visit.
I could do with a little snow. We got rain after our last snow so now there is no snow, the ground is soaked and its supposed to get to 0f tonight.
Glad I put the line to the new well at 14 ft with heat tape and 4in of blue insulation boards on it. I may need it this year.

Morning minions!
It is Monday, November 18th.
1820 - Captain Nathaniel Palmer became the first American to sight the continent of Antarctica.
1865 - Samuel L. Clemens published "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" under the pen name "Mark Twain" in the New York "Saturday Press."
1883 - The U.S. and Canada adopted a system of standard time zones.
1903 - The U.S. and Panama signed a treaty that granted the U.S. rights to build the Panama Canal.
1916 - Douglas Haig, commander of the British Expeditionary Force in World War I, called off the Battle of the Somme in France. The offensive began on July 1, 1916.
1951 - Chuck Connors (Los Angeles Angels) became the first player to oppose the major league draft. Connors later became the star of the television show "The Rifleman." (I didn't know he was a player)
1966 - U.S. Roman Catholic bishops did away with the rule against eating meat on Fridays.
1969 - Apollo 12 astronauts Charles "Pete" Conrad Jr. and Alan L. Bean landed on the lunar surface during the second manned mission to the moon.
1978 - In Jonestown, Guyana, Reverend Jim Jones persuaded his followers to commit suicide by drinking a death potion. Some people were shot to death. 914 cult members were left dead including over 200 children.
1987 - The U.S. Congress issued the Iran-Contra Affair report. The report said that President Ronald Reagan bore "ultimate responsibility" for wrongdoing by his aides.
1987 - 31 people died in a fire at King's Cross, London's busiest subway station.
1988 - U.S. President Reagan signed major legislation provided the death penalty for drug traffickers who kill.
1991 - Shiite Muslim kidnappers in Lebanon freed Anglican Church envoy Terry Waite and Thomas Sutherland.
1997 - The FBI officially pulled out of the probe into the TWA Flight 800 disaster. They said the explosion that destroyed the Boeing 747 was not caused by a criminal act. 230 people were killed.
1999 - 12 people were killed and 28 injured when a huge bonfire under construction collapsed at Texas A&M in College Station, TX.
Today's thought:
After you drink your coffee today, show your empty mug to the I.T. guy and announce you've successfully installed Java. He/she will love you for it!
C0ffee & ph00, just for you!
Happy Monday.
