You were right, Bark, Greed got the better of him as I got an email from him today! I did write him another email on the evening of the 3rd of August:

Hello Robert,
I've talked to my ex's layer, Ivan Katchakokov, and he is OK if we do not use the purchase agreement, we would only need your adress and telephone number for this transaction. If you can provide me with that I will send you my paypal email.
Thanks,
Yuben

Then Here's what he wrote me today:

-send me the money request or your paypa e-mail at once, so i can have the

payment made ASAP.

Getting pretty pushy now, I think he really wants that $50000USD paypal account info pretty badly! Here's what I wrote back:

Hello Robert,

Sorry for the delayed reply. I hope we can still do this transaction. I do need your adress as I need to know where the machine will be going, as I'm sure you know it is not just something we can stuff in the mail. Also, Mr. Katchakokov will not allow me to release my paypal information without an adress from you, I can go to jail if I do so, and having been to jail before let me tell you I don't want to go there again. Please let me know your adress as I really need to make this deal as I need the money pretty bad to get my ex wife and Mr. Katchakokov off my back. Please send me your adress at once and I will send you my paypal email at once.

Yuben

I tried to sound desperate for his business here so hopefully he'll keep trying... We'll see what happens next, if anything...

He's back!!!

A few days ago I sent our friend this email to try to keep him interested, then I didn't hear anything until today... Here's what I sent him a few days ago:

Hi Robert,
Ok, my paypal adress is youbenyankinov@hotmail.com. Can you please make sure that in case you get an email from my ex wife or her lawyer that you do not answer them as they will take me to the cleaners. Her name is Anita Bath and her lawyer's name is Ivan Katchakokov. This must be kept in strict confidence, I hope you understand. Your shipping agent can contact me at this email adress.
Thanks.
Yuben

Then this email came from him:

I have just made the full transfer of funds now and i expect paypal to have emailed to the
effect, i sent $6,350 CAD in all, To (yubenyankinov@hotmail.com) paypal said
they would be holding the funds and it will not be credited into your account
because of the excess payments of $850 i added meant for pick up and
delivery, they said they have emailed you to this effect, you will need to send
the $750 to my pick up agent Headquarters via western union money transfer,so
that paypal can credit the $6,350 CAD into your account as soon as you have
emailed the western union details to them, i added extra $100 to cover the
western union charges which shouldn't be more that $30-40 but just to be sure
i added $100, Here is the pick up agent info needed to get the money sent
through western union money transfer:

Peter Graham
145 Cannon Street,
London,
EC4N 5BQ.
United Kingdom

Regards
Robert Hardey

So now the question is do I report them to the authorities or do I keep stringing them along??? I'll let him wait a little bit before I respond... Like I'm going to send $750 via western union to somebody in the UK without first getting any money...

As a former LEO, I love these types of scams and really enjoy reading where someone is stringing them along. There is a website here in Canada to report these types of scams. I can't recall who is the agency but the OPP come to mind, you might do a Google search and this should get you the info and then you could e-mail all this correspondence you have with this idiot. I bet if you keep stringing him along he will get really greedy and make a mistake which could be useful to law enforcement. I understand that a lot of these scams originate in Nigeria.

Assuming you mean me by OP, hijack away!!! I'd love to see what you got up to! I think I'm going to send our friend here on a wild goose chase with a fake western union number... Anybody know how many digits are in a western union number?

Albertaguy, is that Phonebusters.com you're thinking of? If so, I've sent them the last scam of this type that I got and I never heard anything else about it... Once I get these guys to make a mistake like you say I'll report them and hopefully they'll roast them good...

I just wanted to let you know I am totally disappointed with your attitude. it's been a day now that i have made your payment. I want you to confirm that you've indeed received the payment confirmation. I wonder why you have decided to stop writing me ever since you have gotten the payment confirmation.I explained earlier to you about the problem i had with the pick up agent. I hope you do not intend to steal from me by keeping mute.I need a detailed confirmation of the transfer of the funds you have sent to my agent at once.
Here is the agent information to send the money to via Western Union below:

Peter Graham,

I have called all of our friends and gotten some serious donations, as everyone wants to see you come home safe. All in all I have been able to collect 6423 dollars. I have spoken with different services about sending the money and there is a process that we must go though to send that large of an amount. I must send it via money order through Western Union. They want a certified cashiers check to pay for the money order. I need you to send the totals for the amounts to my paypal account. The amount of 6423.00 and a Western Union fee of 231.57 must be sent for a total of 6654.57 to my paypal account so that I can purchase to certified checks to purchase the money orders to send to you. Please deposit the money immediately. You owe me dinner and a beer when you make it home buddy.

All you need do now is to go to western union office and send $3200 first then you can send the remaining balance of $3223 later.

Please go to western union office now and effect transfer immediately.

I have some horrible news. I feel quite awful about it but I need to tell you the truth. Last night I met a couple more of our friends while at dinner and was telling them of your predicament. We agreed to try to help you in anyway possible. After dinner and a few drinks we decided to pass by the casino. I guess I had a bit to much to drink, and was quite a bit more intoxicated than I realized, but I ended up gambling all of the money that was raised to help you out. Im so sorry buddy. But that is not what is truly bothering me. Last night, being drunk, I slept with your daughter. I didn't mean for it to happen, but it did. I feel terrible and think that you would no longer want my assistance. Please forgive me my friend.

I just wrote our friend back, let's see what kind of response this gets:

Hi Robert,

I'm not sure how to respond to your last email. First off, I couldn't write back because I am in the hospital, I got run over by a Tonka Truck just after I last sent you my last email and I am still in a lot of pain. I did receive your payment information and as soon as I'm out of the hospital I will go and make the transfer, but as I am still stuck in the hospital I won't be able to do it until I get out. I trust you understand. Also, I am not aware of any problems you had with the pick up agent. Please explain as I want to make sure we can trust this guy.

Regards,

Yuben

Do they have Tonka Trucks in Nigeria? We'll see what he says to this one...
