Sirius 4 me

I just picked up a cheepy external Sirius transmitter do-hickey thingy and love it so far. Wished I had had it added at the factory to my RB4 nav system but oh well. I think I can do that later.

I can admit, I enjoy 85%+ of the Howard Stern show. I am on the road almost 2 hours a day and he really makes it go by quickly. A part of me likes him just because I am not supposed to like him..... and there there are the face cramps from over-laughing. I hate those.

I've got the XM MyFi, but didn't like the way an extra box looks on the dash... So I got the XMD1000 and the box to go into my alpine head unit..

I am unimpressed by the sound quality on some music that I know how it should sound (too compressed, like a 128kbps MP3), but the options are good, lack of commercials are GREAT, and now that the wife has claimed the MyFi for herself (she loves the 80's station)

Does Sirius have terrestrial repeaters too? I was pleasantly surprised by that when messing with my XM box...

P.S. The Delphi MyFi has a great tuner section... it pulls in the signal better than the box in the truck!

Yes, they do. I was in the Hartford, CT area recently, and for some reason had the signal strength screen up on my receiver. I had a very strong terrestrial signal level. I left the screen up as I headed away from the city, and noticed that the signal dropped off very quickly.

I have XM in my truck and it's great when travelling. No longer do I have to carry every cd I own in a container that only holds comfortably about half, and no longer shall I hear static when I hit a mountain Although, I really only listen to about 8 stations outta the whole she-bang, but its like cable in that respect too- I pay my 60 some bucks and only watch about 5 channels
