Good morning from Paradise. Thanks Bob for the coffee and goodies. Tasted the ph00 and even that is OK. Our cold spell is almost over and even tho the early mornings are cool, the rest of the day is lovely. Heading to the 80's tomorrow.

Pre-Christmas dinner last night with friends, lunch today under the palm trees with other friends and then this evening going to a BBQ hosted by the orphanage for the volunteers. Big family dinner of the 24th. Boy, will need to go on a diet beginning of the new year!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

T'was two months before Christmas

When all through our land,

Not a Christian was praying

Nor taking a stand.

Why the PC Police had taken away

The reason for Christmas - no one could say.

The children were told by their schools not to sing

About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.

It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say

December 25th is just a 'Holiday'.

Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, cheques and credit

Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!

CD's from Madonna, an X-BOX, an iPod

Something was changing, something quite odd!

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa

In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda..

As Target was hanging their trees upside down

At Lowe's the word Christmas - was nowhere to be found.

At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears

You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.

Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty

Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton,

Wolf Blitzen

On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!

At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter

To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.

And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith

Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace

The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded

The reason for the season, stopped before it started.

So as you celebrate ‘Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'

Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.

Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout “MERRY CHRISTMAS", not "Happy Holiday"!

Please, all Christians join together and wish everyone you meet

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Christ is The Reason for the Christ-mas Season!

Sorry Bob, but that noise that you heard on your roof could not have possibly been Santa. Why? 'Cuz Santa Claus is dead! Here is why;

There are approximately two billion children (persons under 18) in the world. However, since Santa does not visit children of Muslim, Hindu, Jewish or Buddhist religions, this reduces the workload for Christmas night to 15% of the total, or 378 million (according to the Population Reference Bureau). At an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per house hold, that comes to 108 million homes, presuming that there is at least one good child in each.

Santa has about 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). This works out to 967.7 visits per second. This is to say that for each Christian household with a good child, Santa has around 1/1000th of a second to park the sleigh, hop out, jump down the chimney, fill the stockings, distribute the remaining presents under the tree, eat whatever snacks have been left for him, get back up the chimney, jump into the sleigh and get on to the next house.

Assuming that each of these 108 million stops is evenly distributed around the earth (which, of course, we know to be false, but will accept for the purpose of the calculations), we are now talking about 0.78 miles (1.3 km) per household; a total trip of 75.5 million miles (125.83 million km), not counting bathroom stops or breaks. This means Santa’s sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second (1083 km/s), 3000 times the speed of sound. For purposes of comparison, the fastest manmade vehicle, the Ulysses space probe, moves at poky 27.4 miles per second (45.7 km/s), and a conventional reindeer can run (at best) 15 miles per hour (25 km/h) - that is four thousands of a mile (4/1000) per second (6.9 m/s).

The payload of the sleigh adds another interesting element. Assuming that each child gets nothing more than a medium size Lego set (two pounds, or 0.906 kg, that is), the sleigh is carrying over 500 thousand tons US (508,000 t metric), not counting Santa himself. On land, a conventional reindeer can pull no more than 300 pounds (136 kg). Even granting that the “flying” reindeer could pull ten times the normal amount, the job can’t be done with only eight or even nine of them - Santa would need 360,000 of them. This increases the payload, not counting the weight of the sleigh, another 54,000 tons (54,864 t metric), or roughly seven times the weight of the Queen Elizabeth (the ship, not the monarch).

600,000 tons (606,600 t metric) travelling at 650 miles per second (1083 km/s) creates enormous air resistance, and this would heat up the reindeer in the same fashion as a spacecraft re-entering the earth’s atmosphere. The lead pair of reindeer would absorb 14.3 quintillion Joules of energy per second each. In short, they would burst in flames almost instantaneously, exposing the reindeer behind them and creating deafening sonic booms in their wake. The entire reindeer team would be vaporized within 4.26 thousands of a second (0.00426 s), or right about the time Santa reached the fifth house on his trip.

Not that it matters, however, since Santa, as a result of accelerating from dead stop to 650 miles per second (1083 km/s) in 0.001 seconds, would be subjected top acceleration forces of 17,500 g’s. A 250 pound (113 kg) Santa (which seems ludicrously slim) would be pinned to the back of the sleigh by 4,315,015 pounds of force (195,470 kg force, or 1.9547 MN), instantly crushing his bones and organs and reducing him to a quivering blob of pink goo.

Therefore, if Santa did exist, he's dead now!

Top of the morning Gang!

I was attempting to wrap my head around Stan's math. Think I'll just say, "nope"!

Got a few honey do's with the Bride today and then taking Grandson to his Cousins for a visit.

My old 98 12v has been parked in the side yard as storage for it's current owner. He sold it yesterday to a coworker of mine who is going to use it as a donor on an Excursion rebuild. Happy they each came to terms, but part of me wants to yell "NO!" To many projects for me to take on a new one, so it's "See ya".

I left a big pile of cookies and candy from yesterdays get together at my place. Help yourself!

As it should be. What's a good funeral without a few bent rules. I'm Irish... so don't ask me.

Friend of the family, many years ago, was cremated. His final send-off involved his ashes being poured into the barrels of 21 muzzle loaders, and blasted away. There is more good in celebrating a life well lived, than mourning over the mere moment of death.

Keep up the good work.

Lary - - sorry for the loss. Tough losing a loved one. Please help us uninformed ones - - what is a Viking Funeral? Wishing for comfort for all the family.

Arrrrr!!!! Lary thar u be sending our other twin the way he'd want.
It's really amazing how parallel the lives of our brothers are/were/where.

The CHRISTMAS Spirit is alive and well here. Both the spiritual and commercial.

Sorta figured for the Vikings it would be the boats thingy. One thing that does not do is give comfort for those remaining with no place to go reminisce. But sure neat to think, while alive, what will happen to your bod. Never fun any how you do it. Still be thinking of you guys.

Nuther computer day. This one was setting up my old one for Marian and trying to show her what to hit with Windows 10. GGGRRRR............ Now I can clean up her old one and someone can have a nice computer - - like cheap - - like free.

Brought some fresh baked chocy chipy cookies. Come get um.
