Square room with 1 door no windows. There is no way to see into this room from the outside. Inside the room are 3 light bulbs mounted on the ceiling. On the outside of the room is one light switch. The light switch only operates 1 of the 3 bulbs. You only get 1 chance to ever open the door. You can not have the light switch on when you open the door. How do you know which light bulb comes on with the switch?

 

Turn the switch on after you open the door

 

Turn the light on, wait 30 seconds, turn the light off, go inside the room and see which bulb is warm to the touch.

 

Have the wife enter the room, shut the door, turn the switch on and make her tell you when you get back from a nice quite drive.
The heat from the bulb after 30 seconds would be the real answer.
But I just wanted to drive my truck and hear the turbo for a while first.

How about 3 lights and 3 switches, which switch operates which light?
You can go in the room 1 time before you flip a switch, you can only flip 2 switches. You can go in the room only 1 time after you flip switches.

 

The only bulb that will come on is the one that is not burned out already.
