i like that more than the correct answer. Sounds like a solid plan to me

 

Point to one path and ask one "Is this the right path?"

After he responds, ask the other one "Does he always tell the truth?" If he responds "Yes", you will know that the first is the Truth Teller; If he responds "No", you'll know the first is the Liar.....

THEN take them BOTH hostage in case the Truth-Teller has slipped in a white lie!
