Looks to me like it has a drum brake up front, and it looks like the trans is integral with the crankcase.

I'd take it for a short spin.

He definitely gets big points for stance, looks like you'd be plenty stretched out on that bike.

Just looking at the half-timber frame buildings and the cobblestone / brick work on the driveway I would say it is Germany or Austria ... looks just like my back yard (no, that ain't my bike ). But most of the EU countries have a blue square on the left side of the plate with the first letter(s) of their country inside. Germany has a D for Deutchland, F for France, NL for Netherlands .... etc. I don't know where that plate is from.

Either way ... that bike would still fly if it was on a conveyor belt .

Yes, seems like it is from Germany, at least the commercial in the back is written in german. Some other "fine" german engineering can be found at http://www.werner-broesel.de/werner.html , then go to "Kultschmiede" on the bottom right. Bikes you can find there are "Satte-Liter-Schüssel", "Red-Porsche-Killer" with 4 600cc engines, and a custom Horex. Please check the car either, a 1975 Oldsmobile Regency Ninety-Eight, head chopped 6 inches, a V8 beer cooler in the front and a lengthened rear (ca 2 feet) to accomodate a wooden extension so you can sit on it. I think none of these got Tüv

The steam bike was pretty cool there, too. I'll have to spend some time on that site with babel fish up in another window.
