Deer Season's Finest...

Deer Season's Finest...-dons_first_good_deer_____8pt____16%5B1%5D.5_in._inside_002.jpg

This years deer. 8 point with tip to tip spread of 16 3/4 inches, and an inside spread of a little over 19 inches.

Lets see some other hunters "wall hangers"!!!

oh yeah, going out in the AM and try to bag a bigger one... since I do have one more buck tag left.

This is my 7 year old who shot the doe (50 yds) opening weekend and the 5 point (75 yds) the next Sat. Both kills were one shot with his .223 Rossi. I asked him if he wanted to go back Sat. afternoon and he said that he would wait until next weekend because one a weekend was enough and he wasn't ready to tag out yet. I about decided that if I take him hunting I will be cleaning a deer.

Thats awsome you take your kid hunting!!! My dad did the same for me, and now im going by meself, using everything he told me when I was a kid. Its nice to see kids out and about these days. Its terrible that some kids would rather be indoors playing their 800 dollar playstation, when they could be outdoors, having the time of their lives!!! Great job!!!

I second what he said! When we were kids, we just about LIVED outdoors. Me and my best friens were running a trap line when we were 12, duck hunting, deer hunting and TONS of fishing all year long. I can't imagine growing up inside.

Congrats to you Hamilton, (AND your son!), you must be doin' somethin' right!

Thanks for the encouragement guys but I'm only doing my fatherly duties. You see, my mom raised us two boys by herself with no help from my dead beat father who left when I was 2. So I vowed at the age of 10 to always be there for my kids and be a good role model whether married or divorced and I plan on keeping my promise.

My son wants to go hunting in the morning but now he has decided that we have enough meat so he wants to hunt "horns". I'll post a pic of the buck tomorrow I'm sure. That's my boy.

I don't hunt myself but c'mon up to Saskatchewan and shoot some of these freakin' deer. There's so many that they're a hazard when driving at night.
