Just a forum that i founded

site completely dedicated to the TRX 250r fourtrax atv 86-89 atvs

I found a few admins got angry when i plugged the site (dunno why i could care less about advertising on my forum)

but i really like coming to this site and the last thing i want to do is be banned from dodge-diesel.org! its one of my favorite sites!

but hey any u guys in here that are into quads check it out its all honda fourtrax stuff.

Nice place, and with a forum of that size I can certainly understand why you don't care if anybody advertises on your forum. However when you get to be as big as DTR is, it takes a great deal of time and money to keep the site online. The hosting bill alone is the same as many of you pay for a new truck payment.

You posting a link to plug your site is not really a problem at all, we all want to see new places like that as they come up. Advertising your site in your signature so that it is displayed on a daily basis, is a problem though, and I will try to explain why.

We here at DTR reserve the right to advertise in signatures, strictly for those fine people who spend their hard earned dollars here, helping us to stay online. I am sure you can see the logic in not allowing some people to advertise their sites in their signature for free, while our sponsors in turn pay for the privilege to do so.

The content of the site is not really the issue at all, just the simple fact that it would not be fair to our sponsors to allow you to receive the same benefit for free, that they work so hard to pay for. I no doubt believe this is also why it has been frowned on at other sites you have been to as well.

I hope this helps you to better understand that it is an issue of etiquette and not that those admins are just trying to be mean to you. I can guarantee if you were sending me a monthly check to pay for advertising, you too would be emailing me when you saw somebody not adhering to a sites advertising policy.

Thanks for your consideration in this matter

Larry, thank you for the kind message, I appreciate your advice and compliments.

I have no problems with the rules just apparently didnt read them close enough and apprectiate you pointing them out and allowing me to remain a member on these boards.

Wow i cant imagine having a board with that much traffic. I think i could host my own site and pay for the T1 line for the cost of my payment! lol But this is an awesome site so i can believe you probably do get an enormous amount of traffic.

anyways thanks for the understanding and keep up the GREAT work!
