problem honda accord, mechanics
alright wifes honda accord 2005 40k miles. We came back from a small trip (250 miles) monday night and this morning the car won't start. Jumped it and after a few minutes it just died again. Got it to drive around the block a few times and when I turn the lights on it seems to drop voltage, and it does not recharge itself so im guessing alternator?

that sounds a whole lot like a low voltage problem to me....if memory serves honda's are very much sensitive to low voltage problems...could very well be an alternator issue

Put a voltmeter on it and see what the voltage is on the battery after sitting overnight, and while running. That test could very well tell you if you have a bad alternator or just a weak battery.

Take it to NAPA, get the battery and alternator checked out. 04 yr, still have the original battery? Its probably on its way out. I know some vehicles, most won't run with a dead battery, it has to have a certain an=mount of draw. The old carbuerated vehicles you could jump it and drive it w/o a battery.
