You know, about medications, it seems there's a double edged sword there.

First, they need the profits from today's drugs to fund new development. They only get the patent for 7 (?) years. However, it might take 10 years or longer to develop the drug. Afterwards, the generic versions are available.

Well, it has only gotten worse. Since pharmacutical companies can now advertise directly to the public, the costs have sky-rocketed due to advertising budgets balooning. Personally, I would like to see a ban on drugs to the public. I know people who want the drugs advertised and their doctor won't give it to them. So, then they resort to doctor shopping trying to get the drugs because the feel they "need" them.

Banning the advertisements to the pulic would help drive the cost of drugs back down.
When the drug company's advertising budget is triple the R&D budget, there's something wrong.

It's high time we started letting those companies know that we're not appreciative of the smoke they're blowing up our backsides with their misleading ads.

The overtime rules also raised exemption from $8060 to $23660. So now you have to make at least $23660 before they can deny you overtime no matter what position you hold. The more you read about this law the better it sounds.

Hey, he's the first to admit that he's not a good public speaker. Not being a good speaker does not keep you from being a focused, dedicated president. I'll take a guy the works and speaks from the heart way before I vote for a gifted public speaker.

It scares me to think that an observation, such as an empty glass, sways peoples opinions as to do what they think is right for the country.
Making the same mistakes over and over, such as drinking from an empty glass, applies to Bush's entire presidency. Sure he stays the course, even if it's wrong one.

Edited by Admin Please refrain from making these observations a PERSONAL attack.

Many of us here, including myself do not agree with Infidels point of view on this subject. BUT we respect his right to have a different point of view, and as long as he states it in a gentlemanly manner (as he has) it is welcome here.
