Who uses a back up sensor and what are your thoughts
I was thumbing through the Geno's catalog and saw the Parking Partner brand of backup sensor. It comes with a visual (ft) and audible alarm and some sensors to put on/under the bumper.
Anyone use this or a simulsr system? I have a custom camper that stays on the truck and visibility is slim to none. I want one that works.... not just another in cab guage.

I use that system and it actually works pretty well. Well it works pretty well as long as the sensors arent dirty which really isnt very often. Also if you have your hitch bar and ball on it will see that so it doesnt really help if trying to hook up your trailer with it (my sensors are attached to the hitch cross member). All in all it works pretty well. I think when mine says 0 I am about 8 -12 inches away.
I would say get a camera... They are not very expensive and much more effective IMO. We had both of them at FedEx and I much prefer the cameras. You should aim them so you can see just a little bit of your bumper... then as far rearward as possible but don't let your bumper get out of the bottom of the screen otherwise you have nothing to compare... The back up sensor is probably going to work well with WALLS but not with children, fire hydrants, etc.
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

This question has been asked numerous threads in the past. I bought mine from Genos and it has been great. Mine works with bicycles, children, pedestrians and even weeds.
