wrong color smoke but that high pitch whine sure was nice

 

Are those turbo inlets really open to the front?? Wouldn't a rock or even a piece of paper ruin his day???

 

It's a drag car, the turbos are more than likely rebuilt/replaced at least once a season. There aren't too many things that can get in there while going down a dragstrip. My Mustang made 1050rwhp with a Procharger F-2 that was completely open like that. It finally sucked something up (probably a june bug) this year and folded a couple of blades, but oh well. That's the price you pay for horsepower. It still went 9.17 @ 150 with a trashed impeller!
