Friends,

I'm trying to get all this political stuff straightened out in my head so I'll know how to vote come November.
Right now, we have one guy saying one thing. Then the other guy says something else. Who to believe. Let me see; have I got this straight?

Clinton awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Yugoslavia - good...
Bush awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Iraq - bad...

Clinton spends 77 billion on war in Serbia - good...
Bush spends 87 billion in Iraq - bad...

Clinton imposes regime change in Serbia - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Clinton bombs Christian Serbs on behalf of Muslim Albanian terrorists-good...
Bush liberates 25 million from a genocidal dictator - bad...

Clinton bombs Chinese embassy - good...
Bush bombs terrorist camps - bad...

Clinton commits felonies while in office - good...
Bush lands on aircraft carrier in jumpsuit - bad...

No mass graves found in Serbia - good...
No WMD found Iraq - bad...

Stock market crashes in 2000 under Clinton - good...
Economy on upswing under Bush - bad...

Clinton refuses to take custody of Bin Laden - good...
World Trade Centers fall under Bush - bad...

Clinton says Saddam has nukes - good...
Bush says Saddam has nukes - bad...

Clinton calls for regime change in Iraq - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Terrorist training in Afghanistan under Clinton - good...
Bush destroys training camps in Afghanistan - bad...

Milosevic not yet convicted - good...
Saddam turned over for trial - bad...

Ahh, it's so confusing!

Every year an independent tax watchdog group analyzes the average tax burden on Americans, and then calculates the "Tax Freedom Day". This is the day after which the money you earn goes to you, not the government. This year, tax freedom day was April 11th.
That's the earliest it has been since 1991. It's latest day ever was May 2nd, which occurred in 2000. Notice anything special about those dates?

Recently, John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave no explanation and provided no data for this claim.

Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are wealthy men.
Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas. Kerry owns 4 mansions, all worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is an old barn brought over from Europe in pieces. Not your average A-frame).

Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000. Does that sound right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously has figured out a way to avoid paying his own.

I guess I understand?...

Is it my imagination, or is sKerry skirting a lot of the questions and seems to be a little uninformed about the questions.

Nothing new there, he is his usual self in not answering the questions put to him.

I love the way he stated that his Govt health care program, is not a Govt heath care program

This guy actually believes we are not smart enough to know what he is saying.

I don't think so. He stuttered more and got off topic more tonight then in the first two debates.

Observations: (mine)
* It's easier to criticize when your on the outside looking in.

* I retired July 1st, 1999. Soon after I retired (before Bush), I saw my retirement accounts take a serious nose dive. This was caused by events that had been growing for years and by 9/11. GW was right though.....for the past several months I have seen my accounts make a substantial comeback.

* Just how many people actually make $5.15 per hour? I know around here, house keepers, labors and lawn mowers make more then that. When I go down to the local "laborer street corners", the going wage is $7 to $10 per hour.

* After school program funding? Give me a break! Very few of those folks are being raised any poorer then we were and my Mom worked and didn't ask for or need help. If a parent raises their kids with love and values, and teaches them the difference between right and wrong, the rest of us wouldn't have to pay for their short comings.

* I'm not being raciest, but the black guy that was just on really burns my rear! All my life I've seen minorities get assistance, education and jobs because of their race. When my grandparents were in their eighties, they could not get ANY assistance because they owned an old house worth less the $10,000 and had a little money in the bank. One of my grandfathers best friends, a black man named Clyde that had no education and never worked at anything more then odd jobs and mowing yards, lived in a rented house in the country, drove a newer car and sent his kids to college. Don't get me wrong...I knew Clyde and all of his family the whole time I was growing up, and there was no better people in the world. They were good to me and to my grandparents. I just use them as an example to show the the jerk on TV is full of crap.

* I thought sKerry felt real uncomfortable talking about religion and couldn't stay on topic there either.

I have never voted for a democrat but after reading all of your posts I am voting for Kerry. I used to think members on this site showed poor judgement when they bad mouth ford and chevy trucks but you show the same attitude on politcs. The only thing I can compare the republicans propagand to is the ***** in Germany. You will believe any type of lies, promote God and Jesus, and denouce every one who is not like you. You make quotes out of the bible justifying your actions but you can not follow your faith because you can not control your tongues. You seek riches but the kingdom of God is not for the rich. You talk about minorities and wonder if you may be a racist..... you are. Oh by the way I really don't care who you vote for or your opinions on any subject that you may respond to I just had to voice my $.02 on this subject. I do not want people to think all Dodge Diesel truck owners think the way you few do.

The way you just descibed the people on this forum I see no need for you to waste anymore of your time on this site. I think the comparison of the majority of us to ***** is more than enough reason for us not to associate with you or anyone like you. If you can not debate an issue stay off this thread or any of them for that matter. It probably is a good thing you do live in Alaska, there are not many people to offend there.

Sadly, Barry

CaptainDD,
You must be really uneducated and uninformed to make statements like that.

You've never heard me bad mouth Ford or Chevy, because that is not an important issue. It is important to try to revel the thinking of the people trying to take over this country.

When you read something, you need to think about what it says before you inadvertently run your mouth.

sKerry is a better public speaker. Too bad people can't get past that and listen to "what he is saying" or "not saying".

Wow, that's pretty rough. I've been posting nothing but facts, and opinions based on facts. However, I haven't seen a single liberal on this site yet respond to any of my actual ideas, questions, or factual representations of a point. I think you should go back and look at their responses. Every single one of them being an uninformed, one liner type response which in and of itself shows a lack of credibility. It's amazing really that after 2-3 weeks now, none of them have come up with an actual response to one of my points other than a cut and paste article of unrelated subject value, or a one liner posted in an attempt to back out of the situation that they can't answer.
