Cool Heading South

Heading down south to Alabama from Gresham Oregon to visit our son who is a ssgt / crew chief on a helicopter at Ft.Rucker. We will be gone a month as being retired gives you alot of slow and easy traveling time. Seeing all the sites to see and alot of old Army buddies on the way. Have a great Memorial Holiday weekend everyone!

Headed to Lake Mead to burn up some expensive gas.

I love the smell of two cycle smoke in the morning.

Wifey has to work.
I might as well work too.
Might give me a chance to catch up a little.
I'm only 2 weeks behind schedule due to the weather.
But everyone understands that.
Do have a birthday party to go to tonight.
Might have to indulge in a cold frosty beverage.
Have a safe weekend all.

Finishing up the first of three decks.
Crying in my beer about the truck.
Picking squash and greens.
Crying again.
Smoking some meat.
Keeping on the good side of the wife.
Probably cry some more.

Y'all have a good and safe weekend.

Well Saturday I hooked up the headache rack and its lights and installed some **** mirrors on the truck. Today I am working (you can see how hard I am working by being here and posting) and I get to work tommorrow as well. All in all just a great holiday weekend. When I was getting ready for work this morning I was watching the news and noticed that up in the hills here that there are chain law restrictions on Loveland and Vail passes. My guess is that there are some unhappy campers up in the hills this morning.

Smoked ribs on Saturday, and did major geek stuff in the back yard this weekend. Erecting a new amatuer antenna for the HF bands. Cut and laid out 78 radial wires, each 32 feet long out in the woods. That's nearly a half mile of wire! CQ DX!

I'm lucky. I belong to a private club: Central Jersey Rifle + Pistol. We have 150 acres on the backside of Ft. Dix. It's so remote that developers will never get to us. Very laid back club. Safety is the only way to get blackballed. We have about 3000 members, including a lot of police and local SWAT officers.

If anybody wants to join, I'll sponsor you.

Reelay, how was the wiregrass? I was with the 260th Field Artillary there, to teach pilots to call for fire, then taught at the air assault school. Didn't care for it much, being single at the time. It would have been nice for a family though.
