Piston Pics

This is in a gasser. The first few are the one in question has a little pitting. The one called frontgoodone is what all the other pistons look like. What do you think? Should I rebuild it now or change the one out or go with it. thanks

i would pull it and at least check it for cracks, it looks like that cylinder was pinging/running lean. you might be surprised to find a ring land cracked. what was the reason for originally pulling the head? did you run a compression test/ flowby test before pulling the heads? If you've got the motor out of the car already, i'd at least inspect it at the cost of some gaskets. Just be sure to keep rod bearings/crank bearings in order so you can reinstall them where they came from if you decide everything looks ok.

Its got 2 psi lower compression and I pulled it because I blew the head gasket.

Looks fine. The motor is still in the car that is the problem. I realy dont want to rebuild it right now. But if I have too I will. Its got 84000

sa far as i know those are pretty solid engines.

how does the oil look? any coolant get in there or was it just an external head gasket leak?
