Oh on my P3AT I need to get my ramp polished... I heard that knocks out most if not all of the reliability problems.

Also, the very few times I've shot it (which is probably common for most people who own these since it's not a target gun), I found out if you barely limp wrist it it will FTE or FTL. You have to keep a rigid hand and wrist on these... Try it and you'll see.

Someone told me Gander Mt will do "warranty" work on them and polish the ramp free... Hope they have a good gunsmith I'm probably going to take it in while I'm thinking of it tomorrow..

Personally I carry P229 .40 Sig, but not concealed, I only carry when camping and such.

 

I have a P3AT for when I can't carry a real gun (S&W J-frame in .357 mag). You might also consider the Kel-Tec PF-9, it's a single stack 9mm nearly as small as the P3AT - around the size of a Kahr but much less expensive.

Real men don't wear pajamas, but the next time I see some dude at 7-11 wearing pajamas I'll take into consideration that he may have a P3AT in his pocket before I point at him and start laughing.

I went to my local sheriffs dept. then paid them $50 and had to send the state $75. Im waiting on the permit still, they said it would be about 3months before I get it. this was for the lifetime permit also. I have never been in jail, so I hope to be able to get it

 

You know, I have nothing against Glocks except for 1 thing, you can't shoot lead bullets out of em. Not that I shoot alot of lead, but it's nice to have that option available. Otherwise, I might own a few. But for me, it's HK. Also been looking at the new M&P line from S&W. They have a pretty nice .40 compact as well.

Maybe it was a 9mm Taurus Millineum, I can't recall for sure? It was a buddy of mine and I only saw it a couple times back in 99-00?

 

While this is true, there ARE ways to get around that if you REALLY want to shoot non-jacketed rounds. I'd be shooting FMJ or JHP regardless of what gun I was shooting so that isn't really a factor for me (or most people, I suspect).

If you 'have' to have a .45 or .40 or 9mm then you have given up on compromise.
Sig P232, I have the older 230 and it is a great ankle, pancake or pocket gun.
If you wanted to step up a bit then the P220 Carry model, I have 2 one with rail and 1 without cause momma bought the wrong one. My issued weapon was a P220 for 13 years. Prior to that is was a 226 and I will never ever own another 9mm. I shot a 'rot' 7 times and I bet it's still living. It was when we left the house.

If you're gonna conceal then don't go to the beach in a Speedo. Wear something appropriate to conceal or don't wear the sidearm.
That's the only compromise you should make.

and Hoss I've had a Glock 30 for about 12 years now and love it, for a Glock!
A SIG IT AIN'T

 

I have the ulitmate self defense pistol...a Leinad .410/.45 double barrel with a 3.5" barrel. I've only shot bird shot in it but it stays loaded with double ought buck. It's a small deringer that is easily conceled but it is a little heavy. Found it at a gun show for $134 new.

 

Choice #1. XD Sub compact in .40 s&w
Choice #2. Smith Super Chief in 9mm.

Depending on how you normally dress in public, you can probably get away with a larger bodied pistol that is more comfortable to shoot. Remember however, a carry gun should be comfortable to carry and easy to retrieve. It doesn't matter if it wont do a one inch group at 100 yrds. it doesn't matter if your hands hurt after shooting. You will mostlikely only shoot it a couple times at the range.
