We're up Bob, don't have a choice with the two of you yelling back and forth across the country at each other.

The one morning I have to sleep a little longer and y'all are making such a ruckus you'd wake the dead!

Today is Sunday, May 8th, MOTHERS DAY.

On this day in 1794 - The United States Post Office was established.

1846 - The first major battle of the Mexican War was fought. The battle occurred in Palo Alto, TX.

1847 - The rubber tire was patented by Robert W. Thompson.

1886 - Pharmacist Dr. John Styth Pemberton invented what would later be called "Coca-Cola."

1904 - U.S. Marines landed in Tangier to protect the Belgian legation.

1914 - The U.S. Congress passed a Joint Resolution that designated the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day.

1943 - The Germans suppressed a revolt by Polish Jews and destroyed the Warsaw Ghetto.

1945 - U.S. President Harry Truman announced that World War II had ended in Europe.

1958 - U.S. President Eisenhower ordered the National Guard out of Little Rock as Ernest Green became the first black to graduate from an Arkansas public school.

1967 - Muhammad Ali was indicted for refusing induction in U.S. Army.

1970 - Construction workers broke up an anti-war protest on New York City's Wall Street.

1973 - Militant American Indians who had held the South Dakota hamlet of Wounded Knee for 10 weeks surrendered.

1978 - David R. Berkowitz, known as the "Son of Sam," pled guilty to six murder charges.

1986 - Reporters were told that 84,000 people had been evacuated from areas near the Chernobyl nuclear plant in Soviet Ukraine.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Having young kids is like a frat house; no one sleeps, everything is broken and there's always someone throwing up.

Could've went bowling for trashcans this morning, but figured you could use the extra beauty sleep. On that note, don't anybody wake the janitor.

Good morning everybody from down in Paradise. Way down south, but up in the mountains. This year it is looking like our Paradise may become a bit warmer than normal as we have seen temps close to 90 a couple of times and that is unusual for us.
Sampled both the Phoo and the coffee. Bob, yuh dun gud! Now, if you could only train the janitor to do so gud. Yeah, yeah, I know, kinda a hopeless cause, but maybe there is still hope.

Starting this week on some overdue maintenance on my house. Painting, varnishing, fixing and more fixing. There is ALWAYS something to fix on a house. That plus a couple of other projects is going to keep me very busy for a while. Too bad it does not pay.

Hope all of you have a good week and those that were ailing, do not ail as much, those that are experiencing lousy weather have an improved week, those that need work find a really good paying job and for the rest of you, that nothing bad happens in your lives this week.

Mornin' all, and a special mornin' to all the Moms

Bob, you cant complain about the ph00 this morning, Gud Stuff. Had my ration ofn read the trivia of the day, thanks to Chiakwa.

Going to daughter for Moms day BBQ. Her main squeeze in doing the cooking. That is a good thing. Not sure what is in the menu. Should be fun.

Got places to go and things to do before BBQ time.

Have a good un, and be safe out there.

Greetings from up here eh.
Worked til 2 this morning. Up at 4 with daughter having a nightmare. Up again at 7:30 wishing my wife a Happy Mother's Day before she went out for her walk.
Set up the gifts with my daughter.

HaPpy MoTher's Day Stan, Bob and all the other Mother's out there!

I say that in the most cheerful, meaningful, thoughtful and caring way.
