Peanut Butter Recall

I don't know if any of you heard on the news or read it in the newspaper, but there is a national recall on "Peter Pan" Peanut Butter manafactured by "Con Agra Foods." Apparently they have had around 300 reported cases nationwide of salmonella poisoning from this peanut butter dating back to August 2006! The "lot number" on this "Peter Pan" Peanut Butter that has the salmonella is lot number "2111".

And guess what? My wife goes to our pantry when she hears this on CNN News this morning and sure enough, we have one of "2111" jars of this infected stuff!!

Anyway, thought the members would want to know about this before they got sick.

Yup,

I already had the flu and last week I got terribly sick with gastrointestinal problems. I'd been eating alot of that infected stuff the two days before I got really bad.

I've felt like pre-edited by UnrulyNFS for about 3weeks now. I just wanna feel better.

I just ran up stairs to check my jars and thank god I only eat the crunchy Jif, yummy.

How did this all come about anyways? Unsterile jars or a bad mix of peanut butter?

Thanks John_P, you da man! My wife works with products like this every day where she works, grocery wholesaler, and came home complaining about all of the problems with the Peter Pan stuff this evening. AND, lo and behold, John_P has posted it on DTR!

DANG IT!! We have one of them too!! About 1/3 gone.

I am another one that had the dreaded 2111 jar. I felt like crap for about 4 days after I ate alot with my chilli. It even caused me to miss one day of my National Guard Drill.
