Paris Hilton Gets DUI....
IIRC, Paris is wealthy in her own being. She has a couple of lines of clothes and was/is a runway model so she has made her money. And why should yall be angry at her? Cause she was drinking and driving? How many times have any of yall had a beer or two at a buddy's place or for dinner and then drove home (excluding those who don't drink)? The only reason this made the news is because she's Paris Hilton. If I had gotten caught do you think anybody would have said anything about it? Heck, I'da probably gotten away. But the fact that she's famous makes it all that much bigger of a deal. Whoopty doo. She's a person not much older than I am and she likes to go out with her friends and have a couple of drinks. Big deal. Do I agree with drinking and driving? No. But we've all done it and will probably do it again. I'd driven home after only one drink and not thought twice about it. So maybe yall oughta ease up a bit and take a look back at the big picture.
Ha. I'll bet that's exactly what she did. I'm gonna have to agree with Herb on this one. It was probably some cop who probably woulda let a normal human being go (if there is such a thing in hollywood) if they weren't acting drunk but since it was someone famous they wanted to make an example out of them. Can I prove this? No. Can you prove your theory? No. The only reason this is such a big deal is because she's famous. Would you honestly care this much if it was regular Joe Schmo? No. None of us would.
My point in all of this is that it seems like anybody that has a somewhat "BIG" name tends to get special treatment when it comes to getting punished!! Granted they get all kinds of exposure for being arrested, but they never seem to get more than a slap on the wrist and that's about it! You never hear of most of them serving any jail time or probation or none of that stuff.
Frankly I don't give a crap whether it's Paris Hilton or Don Juan......if you screw up and get in trouble...you should be treated just like anybody else in the real world. You see regular people serving jail time for a lot less serious things but Celebs can get away with so much stuff just because of their name and they can afford to pay the outrageous bail.

OH yeah I've done it a few times myself.......nobody is perfect but if I were to get caught I'd expect to pay for it. The Celebs get caught and they seem to be able to just walk from it no problem! TICKS ME OFF

I know that sounds pretty harsh, but the risk of injuring or killing yourself...or worse...and innocent third party, is just too great in my opinion. It's an extremely selfish thing to do.
Paris Hilton has never done anything to impress me, but I agree with others that said she should be treated just like anyone else who gets a DUI (or DWI). If I were making the laws a person caught driving after drinking alcohol would lose their license permanently. Good thing for some of you guys I'm not making the laws.

Does that mean I have no compassion? Anyone who knows me knows that couldn't be further from the truth.
Nick where in the heck do you get all these sweet smilies? you seem to have a plethora of them.
I agree wholeheartedly with that statement, but when it comes to drinking and driving I have ZERO tolerance. I've seen it ruin too many lives...INNOCENT lives. Personally, I don't care if you've had one drink or fifteen. If you've been drinking you shouldn't be driving. Period.

I am actually a little inaccurate on that the stats aren't quite as drastic as I remembered, but the trend has been changing alot over the past couple years. Here in Utah over Labor Day we had 10 driving deaths none of them where alcohol related. Also some of the falling asleep deaths are related to alchohol because that induces sleep.
