painting aluminum wheels

i have a set of eagle alloys polished aluminum wheels at home and was thinking of painting them flat black. anyone done this before? ive never painted on aluminum and need some help. i want them to last.

A lot of guys on jeepforum try this with decent results, but it's pretty tedius stripping them properly. The consensus seems to be having them powdercoated for the best results. If you don't do it right when doing it yourself, and corrosion gets to the bead area of the wheel, you'll have trouble holding air.
