Ooops
and excavator would never have a hope in this world of lifting that, and you can't dig a hole there to put the truck under it , because it would have to be a fairly large hole to get the truck down far enough , and at the right angle to keep from high pinning the trailer, there is also a water main under there.
)We had one of a local farmers drivers do that with a loaded grain trailer one fall, it was dry when he left, but we got dumped on that night. Next morning his boss handed him a shovel and told him to fix it! They still call him "Booboo"

I use to have a towing company and have been on many call outs to lift trailers that sank and buried the landing gear.....it takes awhile because the landing gear pads will hang up while lifting the trailer....the worst one was a trailer loaded with coils of steel the driver missed the concrete landing pad and when he unhooked he took off all the loading chains and binders so no one would steal them as the trailer sank the coiled steel rolled to the nose so all the weight was on the front at one point my wreckers front wheels where 2 ft off the ground
a big payloader with heavy chains...
pick it up, slide some wood under the legs. let her down and hook it up.
i would not do any digging.
can't roll it ahead without air!
good one though, yea see if you can watch what they do.

I was trying to get buy not admiting to doing the same thing....but yes when I was a pup, I did it to. Had a woman on my mind an didn't pay attention...drop my trailel and when I came back, she was on her nose, cost about 400 bucks to get me out.
The wood pieces across the landing gear are " V Boards" and are used for tying down the load.
You put them at the top of your load and it gives you a surface for the ropes or straps to pass over and not damage the load.

That is the usual method if your gonna use the cables, or you have the room on both sides of the trailer, which there is in this case. We prefer to use one of our 40 ton undereach's, just place the stinger under the frame rails then put some 6x10 oak lumber on top of the stinger, drop your stiff legs then pick it up and have the driver back under the trailer, works ultra slick, even with a fully loaded trailer, plus it is cheaper for the driver and only take about 15 min to do.

We have 2 NRC heavy wreckers, one is a 25 ton stationary boom and the other is a 27 ton slider, one has 25,000# winch's and the other has the 30's on it.
Thanx for posting the pics.
Did you mean 30,000# winch's? that is an NRC body on that Freightliner and the standard boom mounted winch is a 30,000# winch. They do offer larger capacity winch's up to 45,000# on the boom but anything bigger is usually a dragline winch set on the deck.
