Onofficial hand gun review on several sizes
Fired some of the new pieces today and what follows is my experience with those. This is just my unnoficcial findings and are no way intended to put down or pump up the guns. Fired the Baby Eagles in 9 mm, 40 cal, and 45 cal. Fired the new Taurus 40 cal patterned after the Berretta and the Taurus 40 cal Millenium Pro. And fired the big S&W 500 too.
The Baby Eagles were a pleasure to shoot except that the 40 cal was doing some funny stuff. It would misfire until you pulled the trigger again and it would always fire on the second hit. My son has the exact same gun and it did not misfire the first round. They are fairly easy to take down with only a small like pocket knife to remove the slide pin. The 45 was really sweet to shoot and the 9 was smooth and acurate. The 45 front sight was off to the right about 1/64 of an inch or so making everything hit to the left. Took me a while to figure out what was wrong there. It's a simple fix with a brass punch to move the sight a little to the left. The grips are comfortable, for those with wide hands, and fit nicely in the hand. The 40 and the 45 hold ten rounds and the 9 mm holds 15 rounds.
The Taurus PT 100 I think was real nice to shoot. Smooth slide action, nice grips, and nice finish. Take down is easy with no tools at all. Shoots accurate and never missed a round in over 200 we shot through it.
The Taurus Millenium Pro 40 cal was a real nice compact piece for the money. Has a little bit of a kick cause it is so small but easily controllable. Take down is fairly simple with no tools. Slide action seems smooth for a gun this size. It holds ten rounds in the clip.
Then there was the big S&W 5 OH, the OH is for OUCH. This thing kicks like a Missouri mule as one might expect. I shot five rounds of 375 grain rounds through it and then put in two of the big 440 grain rounds. The 375's were a little hotter with a little more kick then my Cassul 454 but the big 440 grains were a real handful. Not something I would want to shoot a lot not that I could afford it anyway. The 440 grain rounds are near $2.50 a shot.
Take this as you want, again, it's just what I thought as I fired them today. Enjoy.

I've had problems with that stuff too. My PT111 doesn't like the S&B or the Wolf, it dents the primers but they don't go bang until the 2nd or 3rd hit. All is fine with American made ammo - UMC is usually the cheapest so that's what I use.
Probably doesn't like that cheap Russian ammo, The slide may not be seating fully forward into battery position. Could be a mainspring problem, could be a throating problem as well.
I would definitely try some different ammo before I got too concerned. The quality control of that Russian stuff is not all that great, not uncommon for one pistol to use it, while another doesn't. That new pistol has some pretty tight tolerances and will loosen up a bit with use.
Could be as simple as a small burr on something as well. I am curious if you have multiple clips for this firearm? and if you experienced the same reaction with all of them. A clip can also cause strange symptoms.
Try some better ammo and let us know what happens

I've had good luck with the bulk winchester for hand guns. thousands of rounds in 9mm and 45apc never had a problem. Ok thats a lie. but it was the guns fault. That baby eagle is supose to be really nice. Thats the isarlie army's issue side arm. they call it a jerrico there. So your telling me the 500 kicks hard? What about the Magnum research 45-70 revolver? You know the one with the 3" or so cases. Theres a video on there website with to tiny women shooting them. They didnt seem to have a problem
Thanks for the review though! I really like that 500. I might need one someday.

Was it bought new or used?
If used, you might try spraying a little cleaner in the firing pin hole.
My Taurus 92 did that on one outting (Taking two tries to light off a primer)
Did the cleaner thing, next outting all shots 100% on first try.
Seems powder residue gets in and clogs things up sometimes.
Neat pic I currently use as "Wallpaper" on my home& work PCs.

Tried two different types of ammo and tried the clip out of my sons identical gun. Same thing in all cases. I'm not too worried at this point since it is not a carry gun anyway, just a paper punch. Broke it down last night and cleaned it real well, we'll try again on the 23 of next month.
