Looking for work every few months gets old after a while. Living in motel rooms or cramped cabins sucks just as bad.

I have spent a few nights in motel rooms that were nice enough to wish I hadn't flown and I would have brought my pistol.
I think I would rather have the Canadian drilling in the winter than Brownsville TX in the summer... I can get enough clothes to get warm, but I cant seem to cool off..
Norway is coming up in the next 30 to 60 days.. We will see how bad the north sea is during the summer...

I agree Fronty...
I was offshore Louisiana back in 97 and it was 105 without a breeze. I turned all different colors that day.. I was the "Kanuk" that couldn't take the heat..
I challenged them to come and visit me in January..
Thats the line I always use to " I can get enough clothes to get warm"..

Salesman for FRAN!! CASI!! CRE!! out of BRYAN, TX. for two years $81,000 a year salary, new company truck every year (dodge diesel) to many fringe benefits to remember, pushed a crew for six years prior to this. The oilfield really does get in your blood.

I'm a Gas Well Testing Supervisor with IPS in Alberta. I live in Lethbridge, but usually work near Edson, AB for Burlington Resources. Last fall I worked in Wyoming and Rifle, Colorado, really enjoyed it down there!
Off-Shore Medic in the Gulf for the last 8 Yrs. Been on the same jack-up for Rowan Drilling for the last 6 yrs. Worked for New Park before this as an Injection and Batching Tech. in their NORM facility before putting my Paramedic License to use in the oilfield.
Working 14/14, this is the best job when you go home
and the worst job when you have to go back to work.

Started at a clean up hand at a marine terminal on the Calcasieu River. Now it's a cushy office job on the west side of Houston. Things could be worse.
