Oh P.J! 200,000 miles on Original VP-44!.. PAY UP!
Oh P.J! 200,000 miles on Original VP-44!.. PAY UP!
As you may recall (if not I'll remind you) P.J. bet $10,000 that my original VP-44 would not make it to 200K miles. Well below is the proof and I want P.J. to PAY UP!

I attribute the longevity to the following; (maybe ....maybe not)
1. I keep the fuel tank 1/2 full.
2. I use 2% preimium bio-diesel.
3. I use Power Service Silver in the summer & white in the winter.
4. I watch the fuel pressure like a hawk, Fass II.
5. I allow the truck to warm up every start. (remote start)
6. Cool down to EGT's 350F.
7. I drive it like I stole it.
8. I'm a lucky guy.

We have a '98.5 at work with 260something on it, original VP. Probably the original LP. No gauges, driven by steering wheel holders. What's that saying about the Lord looking after children and idiots?

He's been knocking, and some praying from what I understand too.
It's some kind of freak pump, might be a prototype that snuck through somehow. You know, the one Bosch could have built that actually lasts longer than 3 years?
