Yup. One of DHs coworkers borrowed it to us to try out. This one is the Charbroil Big Easy. We did an injection and a rub. It's been in for about an hour and 15 min now and it around 96* internal. Waiting on 165*.

So far it has been as the name says, easy

Shorts, are you probing in the breast or the thigh? when frying, my target is 170 in the breast and 180 in the thigh, according to the Butterball company.

Breast. We'll double check the temps. DH likes to cut it at the minimum. I on the other hand have a neurosis about not wanting undercooked poultry.

That makes two of us. My birds always look bad but nobody has ever gotten sick. I'll stick with that.

Here it is Pulled the temp probe out to check the other breast, it was about 10* behind so waited until it came up to 165*. The first was 17Xsomething and then probed the thing and it was 185* Looking good.

Shorts, Turkey looks good! I haven't used an oil-less fryer yet, my turkey fryer is a big pot and some good frying oil. I fried 3 turkeys on thanksgiving and had nothing left, the family loved them!

Evening DTR, going to Mom and Dads tongiht for our Christmas dinner. We're going to my FIL's tomorrow for Christmas. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!!

I don't think this has anything to do with Christmas. I dunno what it is, woke up with a hair across... well, you know. Not ready to smack someone, yet the thought of banning someone DOES bring a smile to my face. Old age I guess. Time to get a job as a greeter at Walmart.

Scott, Maybe you need to hug Santa (or set his beard on fire and stomp it out with your boots).
Either way, it might perk you up.

Well, gotta go visit with the company for awhile. Went out to the shed for some mouse traps. Hmmm, maybe I will put them in the little kids stockings tonight and wait until tomorrow to set em out for the shrews.

Merry Christmas Claude.
