I'll keep you mind Claude. Start my vacation at 2 o'clock. Won't be up til at least Sunday night though. Brother's having an open house tonight. First few days up north will be an axle swap and some more fab work on the jeep. You're welcome to come over and watch me break a knuckle or accidently grab a piece of hot steel.

Greetings. I will be starting ERT as early as July now. I might have the opportunity to do some more beneficial things from all of this.

Bark, the Instructor actually asked me why I suggested sheep. I put my arm around him and said; "Lets got for a walk...and talk." Then I winked at him.

What's 'ERT'?

Afternoonalmostevening.

Well my day turned out not so stellar. Truck ran great pulling the trailer on the highway, getting about 9 miles per gallon and once I get it in 10th it just stays there no matter how big the hill. Of course, I can't have something go totally right, so apparently the alternator decided it didn't want to alternate anymore. So much for Monday's plans. I hate trucks.

Check the idler tensioner while you have the alt out, they love to fail shortly after the new alt is installed.

Welcome to the world of big trucks.

Thanks Tim, I'll do that!

Are these alternators internally regulated?

Don't forget, alternators need voltage to alternate. Have you checked for voltage at the alternator with the key on and engine off?

No, not yet. That's on tomorrow's 'to-do' list.

Yes they are. You can also go up on the amperage also.

Thanks again! It looks like the original, and with 850K on it, I guess it deserves to die!
