some GOOD stories on here:
http://olgoat.com/

quote "if you don't like the raisin bread, just yell, and the raisins will run away"
(had roaches on a submarine)

good chow with Mad other nite. Goodness. he deep fried a chicken,
i got HURT. i ate so much i was "bloated & unattractive"

his wife & mine was supposed to split fixing a meal, ended up his wife made most everything, and my wife was shore impressed. you won't know it from Mad's carrying on here - but good folks, real good folks. i did not let him make the coffee at my house after seeing the tar in jar he makes here....

good to see Phox around - used to yak at him all time, where you been?
got grandkids or sumpin?

got called Sunday 7 am ( like 7:00 on the digital - "uh no, we did not call you at 6 in the morning")

needed parts next state over - by lunch. went pulled parts, was taking the scooter, mama wanted to go (my kid still lives near the St Marys Sub Base)

so we put 545 miles on the Road King from 10 in morning to 11 last nite.

and been eating Mad's LeftOverChicken ever chance it get.

PISTOL, want the recipe?

Afternoon all,

Almost time for dinner. Wifes office closed a bit early because of the sleet and ice due in to Houston soon. So she had her nails and toenails done. She just called from the grocery store, she is starved, hope she don't by the place out
Have had better weekends that the one that just passed no need to go on.

FiferBob, have you got the garage all done? If you have kids, don't tell them you cleaned the garage, they will be there with stuff to store. Who was it that said Americans are the only ones that have a grarage full of junk and a $40,000 car, or truck park in the driveway.

Madhat, are you going to share the fried chicken reciepe on here.

Big steak house chain does their baked potatoes this way.
Rub with margerine
Sprinkle on kosher salt.
Wrap in foil and bake @350 for 1 hour

Don't know what kind of potatoes they use, mine never came out as good as theirs.

Grandkids home from school today, MLK Holiday, sure hope they have to fall in at the think tank tomorrow. Weather might close the schools. Sanity check

Take care, and be extra carful and safe out there

04, thanks for the good words. I'll slip you that $20 later!
Davey, I'll post a good fried chicken/turkey rub and some KILLER 2x baked potatoes that my wife makes...MMmmmMMM! Funny, 04 did not say anything about those cookies that we brought that he fought me off of. He spread some of his wife's nanner pudding on them... Richard Simmons had a heart attack when he did that. About 2 billion calories in one bite.

Just got back from school. Good class. breakroom is all squared away for the am, brought in an extra pot for fivers foo foo, chocolate roasted almond creme, I think. Fresh donuts will be in direct from krispy kreme. Got the uniform all ready for the am, tight haircut, said all my prayers and told chesty goodnight, where ever he is...

Going to do some painting, then off to school. I got MLK day off, kinda suprised about that...

see ya'll later.
Just do me a favor, if your gonna clean the can with a newspaper and hotwater, dont fold the news paper back up and try to leave it as reading material...

I didn't mean anything by the "looks empty" remark... I dont want the marines upset, the navy still needs their body guards. I would hate to put our surface fleet at risk by having the marines too upset to fight.

You had class on MLK day? I don't have class 'till 8am tomorrow and that's questionable with the weather.

Garlic Baked Potatos

I'll check in later ... gotta head in to the command for a spell. Time to go do some PT !! Sure is nice having a full gym, rock climbing wall and acres and acres of running trails right outside your office.

All right Pistol, here you go. Pick out a couple of healthy spuds (and no, beerhat, I didn't mean suds). Take an apple core remover and take out a deep plug from both ends of the potato and save the plugs. The deeper the hole, the better. Place one segment from a garlic clove in bottom of each hole and then pack the holes with real butter. Now take the plugs you removed earlier and force them into the holes enough to seal them off and then break off what you don't need. Smear a little of that real butter on the outside of the potato and roll in a little sea salt. Wrap them in aluminum foil and cook as usual. After you try it once you might want to add some additional garlic or punch out another hole for more butter. Let me know how you like them.

Now for the bad part: DISCLAIMER, THE USE OF REAL BUTTER, FRESH GARLIC AND SEA SALT CREATE AN IRRESISTIBLE COMBINATION OF FLAVORS THAT HAVE BEEN PROVEN TO BE HABIT FORMING, ESPECIALLY FOR "MEAT AND POTATO" GUYS. SIDE EFFECTS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO; BELCHING, GAS PASSING, EYE WATERING SNEEZES, EXPANDING BELT LINES AND A FEELING OF INVINCIBILITY WHEN FIGHTING VAMPIRES.

Talking TOTALLYRAD, time for your toolbox recipes....

Rick and I spoke of starting a thread of recipes for manly men who can't or shouldn't cook..... let me get with him and we will post it soon!

still can't believe he had a three inch porkchop......

done with the garage work, could do a million other projects but time to go off duty! tomorrow's weather will let me know what I am doing for the day.

Got some GREAT advice from the tow/haul site about saving the front end of the one ton as I am hauling more and more. figured on leaving the dump body in all winter anyways...

White dog is MIA AGAIN after a training run, sheesh people around here will think I am trying to get rid of it. Psst! anyone want a very friendly Samoyed?
can't look for him in the snow, will wait till daylight for movement. last time he was 8 miles NorthWest of me. wish dogs could read posted signs.....

roasted a small chicken tonight and used dry rub spices on it, with a little marinade during the cooking- food was all gone but the nice scent remained. everyone who has come in tonight still looking in the fridge for it, heheheh
sucks to be late for free dinner......they will appreciate me when i AM GONE

Mornin, all Coffee's...brewing. If that's what you call it...

SOMEBODY's just mad because I did not leave more cookies. Funny, he seems to have the jolly belly, just like a certain guy I know that comes around once a year...
No rest for the weary, the semester is only 6 weeks, no time off.

Time to go run. Brought in some FRESH, I say again, FRESH!!! donuts. And, fiver bob's 'special' coffee is brewing in the corner. I left a sign on it so no unsuspecting normal coffee drinker would have a heart attack.

See ya'll in a bit...

3 Huge projects complete, One to go.

Sippin, & surfin'....the ONLY way to start the day.
Not too sure about those "fresh" donuts.......the roaches on the desk won't even go near 'em.

Y'all stay safe,

Mornin' all,
Good and donuts.
No freezing precipatation yet. About 35* and cloudy. Fed them all grits, toast and jelly. Kidletts off to the think tank, wife off to work. Her office is COLD brrrrrNeeds portable heater. Might get the sleet later today.
No big ambitious task in the job jar today. Time to shred old papers.

The garlic baked potatoes reciipe is one I gonna experment with in the kitchen laboratory.

Easy crock pot chicken:

4 meaty chicken thighs,
1/4 cup white wine, or water
Chunk up or slice some potatoes.
Slice up a large onion.
Load it the crock pot and go
Start in the morning, come in to a nice easy dinner. not much work. enjoy
