New way to hunt (leave it to a Texan)

This guy in Texas has set up a camera and gun that can be operated (aimed AND fired) remotely via the web for the purpose of hunting animals (not just targets) by anyone.
Officials are still trying to figure out the legality of it.
Here is a news story about the thing: Point, Click, Shoot
I don't know the web address of the actual site, but I'll bet google does.
(BTW, I think this is a bad idea for at least a few reasons: I don't think you could accurately aim the weapon using the internet, you don't know what is beyond your target, what about the lag from when you "pull the trigger" to when the gun actually fires? A few milliseconds difference and you have gone from a kill shot to a wound, which stinks).

Hmmmm...I'm not usually a fan of new laws, but in this case I hope they make a law that outlaws this. From the article it sounds like they're working on it.

Imagine this scenario: Hunter points and clicks and kills some exotic animal. Attendant goes to retrieve animal and hunter decides it might be fun to shoot attendant too. Pretty scary.

Bad idea in my opinion.

Agreed. Of course, to me, the whole hunting concept would be much more sporting if one were restricted to hand-to-hoof and antler combat with an enraged buck during mating season while armed only with a hunting knife.

Hoss. I agree.

But, Im sure it would not be cheap, and Im sure you would only get one shot. Or pay by the shot. Im sure the "attendant" would disable the weapon before he walked within firing range. I also had this thought: many hunting ranches have cattle on them. What if some idiot with allot of money to waste thought it would be fun to shoot a cow? But then I figure the landowner would be smarter than that, and not have any cattle on the hunting grounds.

I hope it gets outlawed.

the attendant deserves to be shot if he didn't know enough to unload the gun.....

I thought of that same thing. I was hoping that the attendant would be smart enought to disable the weapon, but that might be asking to much.

On the subject of cost:
Wonder if they charge you more if they have to track it down and finish the job. I also wonder if they field dress, have it processed and Fedex'd to your door.

On second thought. I would like to have this setup so I could shoot pigs while at work. THey are a nuisiance for us, and this would really help.

I would set up a motion alarm that would alert me when somehting walked under my feeder. Then I could take aim. And if its at night, the infra red light would pop on when the motion sensor was triggered, and it would be over with...hhahaha.

Ive got a vivid imagination, but im not stupid(rich) enough to spend 10k+ on this kind of setup.

I was just thinking along the same lines.... some guy without a clue gut shoots the animal, It could take days to track the thing down unless the attendant was sitting there with a gun at the ready as well.
