New Pop-Up Ad

Anybody seen the new pop-up ad that looks EXACTLY like the System Shut Down screen you got with the new virus?
It shows the Count-down timer, but the time always shows :50 seconds.

Serious PITA,....when you click on it, it takes you to a vendor's site and you have to close all internet contacts to leave the site.

I put this ID10T is in the same catagory as the moron that started the bug in the first place. > > >

You guys use Pop-up Stopper? It works great and is free. Loads on boot and stays resident. You can turn it off and on. Check it out.

You'll like the pop up stopper I have it on both of my computers and it actually WORKS.

BTW if your in a hurry and dont read through it. When you go to open a window and it doesnt let you hold donw the control key while your opening the window. Its like a bypass key.

Re:New Pop-Up Ad

Google just came out with a pop-up stopper for their toolbar as well. I used their toolbar before (pre-pop up blocker) on my old system and really liked it. You could type your keyword in the bar without going to google.com. Now that it has a pop-up blocker as well, I have to put it on my new machine.

I use "stop-the-pop-up" Works great. You also have to hold down "shift" and click a link if you want it to come up. ;D

A second recommendation for Google Pop Up blocker. Have 63 blocks in the last 3 weeks. Happy as a clam. How happy is a clam?

Another supporter for Pop Up Stopper. However i must add that I really like using Mozilla for most internet browsing. It's got a built in pop up blocker and has absolutely never failed me. It's like Netscape in most ways, but has a tabbed browsing feature that i really like; allows you to open several sites within one "window" so your toolbar isn't all clogged. But when i do use IE pop up stopper works great 99% of the time
