Hi everyone. Just found the site and joined up recently, so I figured I'd introduce myself. Just recently got a 98' Dodge 2500 w/ the 24v Cummins Turbo Diesel and 75k miles on it. Had been searching for something like 6 months to locate the right one. She's in nearly perfect condition, both mechanically and cosmetically, and in original condition w/ no mods. Former owner was a retired aircraft mechanic who took excellent care of the truck. I've already found a lot great info on the site and will definitely have some questions in the future.
For now, the only mod I'm doing is a Quadzilla Xzillaraider w/ recon, but I plan on putting on some bigger tires, fog lights, and a better stereo system in the near future.
Anybody got any recommendations on things I should look out for on this truck or anything like that?
Cheers,
-John

Welcome
Im a newbie to this site as well. Ive been around dodge trucks all my life. In fact I just sold a 95' 2500 that looks just like your truck. Any way the only problem I have ever encountered on these trucks 95'-98' is a/c problems. I fought the a/c system in my 95' and now in my 97'. Im not sayin you'll have problems just a heads up! And for the stereo system if you have any questions with that feel free to ask. I put em in both my dodge trucks. For the few days I've been on the site I've learned that there is alot of dodge knowledge floating around. So if you need help just post.

As president of the Virginia Chapter of the DTR, welcome to the site.
Now let me tell you about a few rules we have here.
It is rule number one that you join the Chapter as soon as possible.
It is rule number two that you come to the 4'th annual Claremont event next weekend. See info below.
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=152094
If you don't understand these rules, let me know and I will explain them further. (actually, I just made them up this morning, pretty good eh? You are welcome to join, it don't cost a thing except a stamp, and you are most welcome to attend the event next weekend. A lot of good people will be there)

Thanks guys.
Dieseldude: I really would like to go down there next weekend, but I'll be in the truck on my way up to Rhode Island next Saturday. I'll definitely join the chapter though, and will plan on going to the event next time.
My brother is also a Dodge CTD 4x4 guy and a diesel mechanic, so I'll try to get him online and join up also. He's just not too much of a computer person, so I don't know how much luck I'll have.
Also, if you guys are into offroading, I was thinking maybe we could try to get some people together and meet up at the Cove Campground in Gore, VA (near Winchester) some weekend this summer. They've got a bunch of 4x4 and atv trails, and some pretty good fishing too. Anyway, just a thought, so let me know if any of you would be into something like that.
Take it easy,
-John

As you will find out, DieselDud is kinda self-serving... he forgot rule number three; Every member of DTR is required to consume at least one pot of the breakroom coffee at least once a day. (It keeps ev'ryone properly hydrated and in top form!)
Oh yeah, welcome to the site!
