I say Viper!! I have told the wife the ONLY sports car I would buy would be a Viper. I would have to come into a lot of money cuz it would go straight to Hennessey for some go fast goodies!!
There is a place in Cali. but I forget the name right now
that also does awesome Viper mods.

Had to vote for the Challenger, but only because you said RT10. I am more of a SRT guy.
Want to be sick? My dealer buddy just sold a 95 RT10 for 30K, it was a perfect Black car with 11K known miles..... thing is going to Switzerland.
If you like the looks of the RT10, then there is only one choice, the Viper.

Also, there may be a challenger in every driveway like the ram's. But have you seen the Ram I'm selling? LOL
Your right about the older married. I say Challenger, because it makes more sense for me with kids; however, They are overpriced. The Viper could be a better value due to holding more of it's purchase price, but no place for the wife & kids.
i voted challenger.. just because they are bad a$$!!! my opinion anyways.. and the viper is too but the challlenger seems more of the everyday driver but still has the i can scare you if a i want grandma look to it..
I voted Viper. You can walk into almost at least a few Dodge dealerships in any decent sized city and buy an SRT Challenger or 2 (at least around here it seems), but Vipers are something special. Raw power, sweet looks, and a great sound.
You say that like it's a bad thing..............
Anyway, i cured my wife of wanting a ride long ago before my Nova was really fast........ one quick blip of the throttle and she has never, ever asked for a ride again.
Geeze, you would think I would have at least had to set it sideways.....

We started out at 37K for the Black 95, and the only offer was 30K from the Swiss guy, that ought to tell you where the high end market is right now. Lots of those guys wanting 55K for a SRT will go down when their House is heading for foreclosure......
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

Just to be different and to maybe stand out from the crowd, I would not buy either car. Instead I think that I would opt for the new Jaguar with the new twin turbo diesel engine. Not sure if this is available in the states yet.
challenger for sure. I offically fell in love with these cars when I saw a jet high gloss black with tinted windows and some chrome retro wheels with a new touch to them.....then I saw something that put me over the edge....now normally I hate these but the chrome or ss HOOD PINS really set this car off
Go with the Challenger. 02 R/T only had 450HP in 03 they went to 500HP. Why buy something that is used when you can start fresh and know how it was driven. The new Challenger is really a head turner. Every one wants to talk to you about it. Yes in probably in a few years there will be a lot more around, but by then you can have yours lowered, with some nice wheels, and maybe some new paint on it to make it different. Plus there is also a few superchargers out that will bump up horsepower an extra 150. I allready know of two guys that dropped in 426's, and one is low comp. ready for a supercharger. They ride and handle nice, lot's of trunk room for luggage. But really it's up to you what you want, and what you are after. As you can tell i might be a little biased, i went with the challenger. I just couldn't force myself to buy a used performance car and find out, or worry how much she has been abused. Good luck, either way they are both a great vehicle.
I voted Challenger because if you're single like me I'd never think of picking up a chick in a Viper. She'd probably have some small expectations of your nether regions when you got her back home if you know what I mean
.
I'm the exact opposite of you guys and think the viper is the old guy's car for like when the kids leave the house you can take out the old lady or whoever in. I think I'm a pretty young guy still at 27.
One of my good friends just bought an 09 black on black SRT 6 speed Challenger and it's nice. He also has a black on black 73 340 challenger and a 70 R/T Challenger. Make sure you get the Nav/Sound system with 12 inch kicker in the truck and sunroof...... The quality is nearly on par with BMW and that will impress the ladies more than a big V10. Just watch out, the big 4200lb challenger loves to wheel hop and throw the belt if over revved.
That Evo above is pretty cool BTW those will be worth some money one day.
Also, maybe look at slightly used Corvette or GT500... Out of them all I'd have a GT500.

challenger vs. viper
the challenger would be a better all around vehicle where the viper likes to spin out going around corners accelerating to hard or just plain messing around. its not that expensive to upgrade the challenger with a programer then you will surpas the stock vipers capability
You can get the SRT10 convertibles for low to mid 40s, and that in my opinion is better looking than the RT10. Nothing against first gen Vipers, just the new ones are so bad!!
And dont ever give Hennessey a car, cause you likely wont get it back. The dudes being sued by so many people right now its not even funny. Go to a Viper forum and ask, or an SRT forum. The guy gets your car, you send him big bucks (like $150k) and he strips your car and sells parts off it...
