New Business Venture
New Business Venture
I am currently in the planning phase of a new business.
It will be a snowplow franchise from a major manufacturer, we will sell all kinds of truck accessories, hitches, strobe lights, tool storage, make hyd hoses, ladder racks, and snowplow parts, supplies and service/ installation.
I have been talking with many major manufacturers over the last couple of months about their products. It's coming together slowly but surely.
If it all comes together, I think it's gonna be a pretty good thing.
Think of it, what kind of stuff have you bought for your truck this year?

Planning
It's all in how you plan, and your area. I too almost did the same thing when I almost moved to maine. Was going to open up a Sports shop. Work on ATV's, snow mobiles, jet ski's, boats ect. Each season has a different sport so it would have worked good. Since most of my knowledge is in machining and ATV engines and such I would have loved it. I love making things better. Once ported and did some motor work to a blaster and it beat my friends 400 ex (only exhaust on that) Even he rode it, big guy too and couldn't believe the power that it made. Everybody has a itch there good at, if that's yours, then you'll do great.
Haven't bought any ladders but if you sell twin turbos or really nice stuff for really cheep, then I'll buy

The shops around here that are successfull don't specialize only in plows, the warm season they concentrate on their main bread and butter. This for them is specialized bodies for trucks. Utility dump you name it they fab it from raw flat steel to order in units. One of the reasons for them being good is they have a lot of guys working and a lot of bays so when it comes crunch time after a storm or during they have a lot of customers that can get taken care of quickly.
