Need to paint over rust, help please.
I don't feel right about doing this but I don't see how I can remove all the rust. I'll try to make this short.
I bought a well constructed HD trailer that I got at a good deal because the builder ran out of time and funds to "finsh it". All it really needs is to be wired, lights mounted, tagged and the biggie-painted. The PO had a tarp over it but as you can figure it still accumulated surface rust, everywhere.
Any ideahs on what to use/ how to go about painting something like this? Sanding/sandblasting is pretty much out of the question here, too big and too much detail to the trailer.

POR 15 or Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator. It keeps the rust from spreading and you can paint over it. Preferably, I would remove it all with a wire wheel or take to a sandblaster and have it removed.

Sandblast all you can, then brush on a coat of OSPHO. Allow to dry in a very dry environment for 24 hours, then apply a water proof undercoating, then final finish. Ospho will chemically treat the rust removing the oxide leaving a surface ready for paint. It is used in body shops.

Thanks for the replies. I promise you would give yourself a laugh if you saw this trailer after saying "use a wire wheel". I have a wire wheel and I'm far from a lazy man but this is out of the question- I don't have a month to spend on this Although I do plan on giving it a "light" sanding to get the loose stuff off. I have been looking at this stuff after talking with a friend that customizes frames for big rigs http://www.magnetpaints.com/underbody.asp
