I need an education!

I have a HP pavillion zd7000 laptop and would like some info on connecting it to the internet via my cell phone. I have a data port on my phone (Motorola V400 GSM) and service with cingular.

If any one has used this type of connection how was it?
What hardware do I need? My laptop has built in wireless, card slots, and infrared.

You need the data link cable from Motorola, internet sevice for your phone, and the software... These can all be provided from motorola..

 

Sorry, You have to buy the internet sevice from cingular...

 

Cingular has an unlimited laptop connect for $75 a month.

The hardware they were showing were pc cards and external wifi antennas. I wouldn’t think I would need that with my laptop being wifi ready. I thought all I would need is their software and a USB connector for my phone. Then again, I don’t know so that’s why I’m asking. Their tech support person was rather vague or I maybe I just wasn’t asking the right questions.

I’m totally blonde on this subject so use crayons and draw pictures.
